Very clean but dark and felt like a prison cell. No rails on stairs (no elevator). Had to carry luggage up and down stairs. Great, friendly staff.

Our stay at Hotel Leifur Eiriksson was less than average. The room was tiny as well as the bathroom. It did not look like the photos, it was basically a portal-potty inside our room. We had to keep the door to the restroom closed at all times or else the rest of the room smelled terrible like a public restroom. The water also had a very strong sulfur smell. We under the general sulfur filtering of the water in Iceland, but this was too much to be comfortable and ended up brushing our teeth with bottled water. I would not recommend staying at this hotel if you have a sensitive nose or a party larger than one.

My room was street level with church view in the building across the street, it was quiet and I didn’t have any problems getting settled in. Good variety of breakfast foods, and friendly/helpful staff. You can’t beat the location. I would stay here again next time I’m in Reykjavik!

I had a room with a single twin bed and a small private bathroom. The location of this hotel is definitely a huge plus. The downside is that “free parking” is difficult to find. I was not able to check into my room early, which I knew was a gamble. Other than that, it was reasonably priced for its location and I wouldn’t mind staying here again.

The hotel and staff are very nice. Rooms are fairly small but location is good. Clean. There is no elevator. Stairs down to the lobby and then up again to any rooms. Breakfast was good. An upgraded continental. Bus stop across the street. Shopping down the hill a few blocks.

Perfect place to stay in Reykjavik. Walking distance to the bus terminal and lots of fabulous restaurants and shops. Also a short walking distance to a nice path along the water. Lovely view of the Hallgrimskirkja church! The room was stylish and comfortable and the lounge area was very nice with complimentary coffee and water, and a small bar. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, happy to store luggage and offer suggestions for dining and excursions. Highly recommend!!!

Nice property and management. Staff assisted with luggage, as there is not an elevator. Breakfast was varied and with healthy options. Bedding fresh and comfortable. Room overlooked the church which was an awesome sight.

The rooms are very quaint. Loved that it was walkable from everything. If you want quiet, don’t stay here because of the church bells that go off quite often. Didn’t like that our room could be completely dark. There was quite a bit of light still coming through even with the shade closed. Staff was friendly.
