The neighbourhood was very local. I rarely heard English being spoken due to the location. Rincanada is off the beaten path of Puerto Escondido. The beach is a 7 minute walk. Best Vacay ever!

Good budget hotel

There were many things wrong with this hotel. First, it doesn't look any like the pictures. The property is old, the rooms are dirty and full of insects (which I know, it's Puerto, but this was too much, there were dead ants inside the fridge), the blankets and towels were dirty full of stains. My bathroom curtain fell down when I was taking a shower and they never fixed it so the bathroom was always wet. They say they have amenities but they only give you two hand soaps. The WC seat was broken, and pieces were flying out every time I sit on it.
But the worst I think that it was when I arrived and figured out they don't take cards, so you have to pay with cash. Any part of the reservation process mentions that. So I had the owner over me my entire stay until I found a way to get some cash and pay. I called Expedia to get some help, and every time I called they gave me different information. It was terrible. I do not recommend this place at all.
