Area around the hotel isn't the best compared to Ipanema/Leblon/Copacabana but prices are way more reasonable and I think it's worth staying in this side of the city and moving around to wherever you wanna go instead of staying somewhere a bit more convenient

Overall decent stay. We came from Canada so maybe our expectations were high, but I’ve stayed plenty places over my time. Good and bad, this wasn’t a bad experience overall. The staff was great, English not being first language we still got helped when needed. The safe batteries were a pain, the door swipe card also. Old tech… Two single beds that were kind of out dated, tossed and turned every night. Great water pressure and the breakfast was good. Enjoyed the jacuzzi’s and gym space. It’s in the heart of downtown. Homeless is not far but we came for the party and we were close to Lapa arches so it was great.

A nice new hotel that's, unfortunatelly, based in a bad area (the whole city is a bad area, actually). The receptionist suggested some tours and we enjoyed one of them very much, for ~85$ we saw regular touristy Rio and had lunch in a local restaurant). Thank you Fabio. We would return if it were to be located in another city.

Comfortable room with intelligent pleasant design, pretty good Buffett breakfast and very friendly staff. Hotel is right in Lapa in a less busy street but a blk to the action. My only if is the front door wide open at night w security in the back of lobby watching TV. Keyed entry would be an easy solution.
