Our room smelled like take out food as soon as we walked in. The bathroom light didn’t work and kept flickering. We found a live roach in our room next to the tv. Someone in the room next to us was smoking cigarettes non stop for two days straight. I finally got annoyed and walked up to the front desk and rang the bell and the black guy working was annoyed and just yelled out yea??? I told him someone was smoking cigarettes next to us and he didn’t seem bothered at all. Didn’t offer any kind of help or consideration. Seemed inconvenienced more than anything. Hotel was extremely dirty and unkept. Saw multiple dead roaches throughout the hotel lobby and entrance. Our toilet in the room ran non stop. I also had the ac unit in our room running non stop and it still remained very warm. This place is terrible. Would not recommend staying here.

My overall experience was fairly good. My room was clean and everything was comfortable, a great location as well! But, the only bad thing is the thin walls, you can hear everything at night and a few times I woke up startled thinking someone was trying to get into my door, but it was next door.

It felt like this hotel was built as something else and was changed into a Sleep Inn. We skipped breakfast because it ended so early in the morning. and opted for Starbucks which is walkable. The staff at the front desk was nice and welcoming. The room was clean but seemed outdated just a little. We had to move the chair in the room because it was in the way of using one side of the bed. The TV felt very small for the room and the volume on the movie channel was very low. We had to turn the TV up really loud to hear it over the loud air conditioner. I wish there was a cross walk over to Carowinds. We did not see the point of wasting $30 in parking at the park when our hotel was literally a 5 minute walk away. However, it felt very unsafe crossing the highway with no crosswalk. The hotel could offer a shuttle service but they don't.

The man at check in was rude. When we came into the lobby he was getting on the elevator and said he’d be back. Came back and basically said “what do you need?”. No welcome or anything. When I asked about a deposit, he just pointed to a sign instead of answering my questions. Very dry and rude. The room was dirty. Black stains on mattress and a toilet that barely flushed. Grey putty in the shower. Breakfast was nothing but waffles. Lady at checkout was friendly. I guess you can’t expect too much for $96 per night, but I expected a litter better.

We had a very unwelcoming check in from the man on reception, especially after long day and a late arrival. No greeting or eye contact and mumbled questions. Even as native English speakers it was hard to understand. Fortunately the lady in the morning was clearer and more friendly. The room cleanliness was satisfactory. It was a ground floor room, but the window had been left unlocked. If we had not realised it would have been a potential security risk for both our room/belongings and the hotel. Bathroom was tired and dated. There was lots of dirt and stains on the back of the toilet door. Easy walk to Carowinds, aside from no easy crossing points. We prearranged with the hotel to leave the car in their car park, which was appreciated.
