We had a very unwelcoming check in from the man on reception, especially after long day and a late arrival. No greeting or eye contact and mumbled questions. Even as native English speakers it was hard to understand. Fortunately the lady in the morning was clearer and more friendly. The room cleanliness was satisfactory. It was a ground floor room, but the window had been left unlocked. If we had not realised it would have been a potential security risk for both our room/belongings and the hotel. Bathroom was tired and dated. There was lots of dirt and stains on the back of the toilet door. Easy walk to Carowinds, aside from no easy crossing points. We prearranged with the hotel to leave the car in their car park, which was appreciated.

We were visiting Carowinds theme park for two days and booked a room here for the night. This room served our purpose quite well. For the price I paid the quality was as expected, the staff were great and they offered a Continental breakfast in the morning.

I liked how respectful and friendly the staff treated my son and I. My only complaint is that as soon as the elevator reached our floor and the doors opened, we immediately smelled an extremely strong odor of marijuana throughout the hallway all the way to our room.

This was a family trip we were going to Carowinds the next day so we love the fact that it was in walk distance to Carowinds but we ended up driving because it was so hot. The only issue we have was that the day before our trip I call to make sure everything was in place and it wasn’t the pool was closed, didn’t find out until we got there there was spots on the wall that wasn’t clean and the blanket Sleep Inn had on the beds was so lightweight make like a shower curtain. I would book this hotel again because we was right in front of gas stations, the restaurant Cracker Barrel. I will pack an extra blanket to put on the bed

Please believe the negative reviews - this place is as poor as it seems. The mattresses feel like they are from 1988. The shower looks like it’s from the shining and definitely hasn’t been cleaned well since there’s rings around it. It looks like I need shower shoes just to use it. The bathroom floor had lint and dirt. The rooms in general just feel old. The breakfast is a joke. The waffle maker is malfunctioning and burns the outside before it cooks the inside. The lobby smelled nice so at least I’ll give them that.
