It was just far enough away from the bustle of the city but close enough that driving out to the heart of Charlottesville was only 20 mins away. The beds were comfortable and it had everything you needed. "

Bill and Cynthia are wonderful hosts and the home has everything you could need. It is very large and can easily accommodate a large family or group event.We were even given samples of maple water from the frees, and farm-fresh eggs! "Wife and I were looking for a place away from the hustle that comes with NOVA normally, and especially the weekend of the inauguration. I must say we found the absolute best spot. Nelson county has always been a favorite spot for us to go to, but most of the time we have made day trips. I absolutely love being able to post up for a weekend in a quiet setting and being able to relax. Even the pup enjoys the quiet and are keen to relax next to the stoves. Most places just leave it up to you to make it up to the property, but the drive way was cleared before our arrival. Most places either require you to bring your own wood, or purchase wood from them, the cabin already had bundles next to the stoves and instructions on where to find more. My wife and I were able to enjoy the entire day of frozen rain and sleet indoors where we just sat around the stove and kept warm. Of course the pantry was fully stocked of coffee to enjoy next to that lite stove. Of course after the warmth and ambiance of the stove, you'll get plenty of rest in the comfortable beds. There is a TV with connections and apps for all your keeping contact with the outside world, so I stayed away from that room. I was there to not hear about what was going on, and that was what I meant to do. I absolutely plan to come back to this cabin, and I'm hoping to bring friends along with me during one or more of those trips.Kalvin"

"17 family members stayed for a long holiday weekend and this house was absolutely perfect! The open floor plan on the main floor offered something for everyone! The kitchen is spacious, has every amenity imaginable including two refrigerators. We used the two sided fireplace which kept us toasty and added to the ambiance. The guys loved having the pool table, and the comfy chairs by the window became the perfect spot to sip some wine and watch the snow fall. We loved the rustic mountain vibe throughout the house! The kids had their own space on the first floor and really enjoyed the arcade. In addition to skiing every day, they were able to enjoy sledding down the hill behind the house in the mornings and late afternoons! The house is conveniently located just minutes from the slopes and it is easy to drop off/ pick up to avoid parking challenges at the slopes! Fortunately there is plenty of parking available at the house. We had 5 vehicles! All in all, it was a great weekend! My only suggestion is to bring your own lighter and starter log if you plan to use the fireplace. Fortunately one of our late arrivals was able to take care of this for us! "
