Wonderful period experience
Wonderful ambiance in a period room reflective of the buildings 1885 railway heritage. Very comfortable. There are nighttime trains on nearby tracks, but that is expected given the buildings railway history and proximity to the tracks. It was not a problem for us.

Neat hotel in a heritage building. Parking is free and located directly behind the hotel. Clear instructions for after hours check in with no issues. Made a great night stop on our drive down the east coast!

A real gem of a hotel . Unfortunately it’s right next to a rail yard . So if sleeping is your thing this is not the place to be . Also late night goons screaming and shouting . Such a shame as the hotel it’s self was loverly and at an amazing price.

The old style decor was lovely and the garden area with the hedges was lovely. Awesome spa bath which I enjoyed. Love the quietness of the area at night. Price for room was very good, and overall a stunning property. Unfortunately my room was very musty which did reduce my enjoyment. The four poster bed was really special, however the mattress was too soft for my preference. Not for backs that need support.

Beautiful character building and furnishings. Spa bath in my room and a very decent price. DEFINITELY great value for money. Big shout- out to staff team member Maddison. I left 2 items behind in my room which have huge sentimental meaning for me. Maddison went out of her way to help. She found them, took a photo and sent it to me for reassurance, and arranged safe-keeping until I was able to return to the hotel to pick up. What a great team!! 👍👍👍 highly recommend the Denison. I’ll be booking there again soon 👌

A nice stay in a historic building. There was a strong damp smell in the room (from use of the bath/spa which is inside the bedroom) which meant it could have done with an airing. Also could get noisy at night (close proximity to railway) although ear plugs provided. Breakfast is basic. Despite this, very friendly service and fairly priced.

Unique hotel
Unique room, very large and stylish. The jacuzzi is both nice, but also seems strange in a Victorian bedroom. The room was clean. The only (minor) drawbacks: 1. Location is a bit outside the town center in an industrial neighborhood. Not unsafe, but also not very appealing. 2. There is a railroad running directly next to the hotel. We were too tired to notice it at night, but if you are a light sleeper, you probably will. 3. Breakfast is. Just a simple continental. Not worth the price imo, but there are plenty of better places in walking distance. We would stay here again for an overnight trip.

Outstanding decor
Fabulous room. A little unusual in that the spa bath and shower are actually in the bedroom. Railway line right opposite our room didn’t really bother us but it might disturb light sleepers.
