Reception staff were helpful and friendly.. The state of the hotel was probably the worst Ive stayed at. The stairwell looked like it had not been cleaned or dusted since it was built. Which is a shame because the wrought iron railings are amazing. The public toilet by reception needs attention and definitely a new door. Our room had a very bad smell so it was hard to sleep. Great location close to train and walking distance to the sights. Breakfast was ok

Great location, steps from the train station and walkable to Trevi, Pantheon, Colosseum and Spanish Steps. The hotel is very dated, shower leaked and lots of yelling on the street at night.

Perfect location for visiting Rome, great restaurants all around and minutes from Roma Termina. Compact rooms but that's what you expect in Europe. Very average breakfast but options elsewhere. Overall was happy and a good price for Rome.

The room assigned to us is on the 1st Floor by the road with restaurants and is very noisy up to 100am. We can hear people talking outside. The room was partially renovated. The dirty window and the cabinet was in poor condition, dirty shelf that we cannot use, door of cabinet paint chipping off. The chair on the desk is dirty and has stains. The bathroom is very small, no counters to put our toiletries, there is a small stool provided. The very small shower room has molds, no soap dish. We have to put our shampoo on the floor. When we entered the room it has a bad smell. The waiting area in the lobby is not comfortable. We found out that there are nicer rooms in upper floors. Staffs are accommodating especially Tamer who is kind enough to lend us the air freshener. The location is very close to train station and has a lot of restaurants nearby. But still this hotel is NOT recommendable.

Our room was fantastic… spacious, modern and clean. We had breakfast included and there was quite a good variety of food to choose from (over and above the typical European coffee and pastry). Great location in proximity to the train station, there’s the typical crowd you usually find around train stations but the streets were actually cleaner than anticipated. Would make a great hub for exploring the city

This hotel was perfect for what I needed it for, which was a place to stay between train trips, close to the Opera house because we had tickets for a performance there. The staff was incredibly nice—I had booked two nights as separate reservations due to a change of plans, and the man at the front desk arranged it so that we could stay in the same room even though the bookings were for different types of rooms. I was also pleased as it was the only bathtub I had in Italy, and the beds were not as hard as some other places we stayed. I wouldn’t want to stay in this part of Rome for long unless I needed access to Termini as it’s not a very charming area, but it served its purpose for my needs. I didn’t try the breakfast as we decided to skip that in favor of getting cornettos and cappuccinos at a cafe.

Hotel is in an excellent location 6 minutes walk from Roma Termini station. Check in was very smooth. Very welcoming attitude of the front desk attendant. Rooms are good but awkward positions of shower and I will call you. In the meeting.

Hotel California was awesome. Very clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful. Close to the train station so was easy to get to the metro. Would definitely stay there again.
