Hotel Verona was fine, the rating system at Hotels.com has not gone to pot. We've used H.com for more than 10 years and we booked a buch of rooms this time, under the new Expedia ownership and the 1 Key program stinks...so much worse than the old program at H.com. The information on half a dozen hotels is Very Poor and misleading...Verona was a last minute change, in Rome, because the previous "hotel" was really a rooming house with dirt, dirt dirt! Verona went out of their way to see that we were cared for in their small hotel near the main train station. It is listed as a 3 star, but that is a small stretch. We were comfortable and the staff cared about our broken AC, and offered another room but it was not as nice as what we had so we stayed put. And it wasn't too hot. As to Expedia and H.com, they way over pitched their Italian hotels Lake Como was dirty and only a 1 star, though the hotel called themselves a 2 star...but Expedia implied it as 3 stars...
