Country stay near Rye
The Workshop was the ideal stay for a few days in the East Sussex region. Gabby the owner was the perfect host, very friendly and helpful. The 2 bedroom cottage is great for a couple with children. Set in the town of Lydd it is an easy 21/2 hr drive from London. The basics supplied in the kitchen were adequate. Special touch with the garden grown flowers in lounge and bedroom.

Summer sanctuary
We have just returned from a perfect weekend stay. The workshop is gorgeous and is in the perfect location for driving into town/the beach or walking to the local pubs and bringing in a takeaway for dinner. The grounds are beautiful for relaxing in and the accommodation comfortable and contemporary. Our daily visits from Gibson the dog were also a highlight! Would highly recommend and hopefully will be back to do it all over again.

Lovely accommodation and great base for exploring.
Lovely peaceful accommodation with a great host and an excellent base for exploring the local area. The kids absolutely loved the space to roam and all of the fabulous wildlife.

Amazing weekend away
We had a lovely weekend staying in the workshop - such a lovely setting in the grounds of Gabby's amazing house. It was so quiet and peaceful which was exactly what we needed. The workshop was really nicely decorated and enough space for four of us. We enjoyed visiting Camber Sands and Dungeness in the day - we ran out of time to go to Rye but would definitely recommend visiting :) Thanks for a great stay Gabby!

Idyllic stay
5 nights get away break for family to visit Dungeness and surrounding area. The cottage (or 'workshop' as it's called) was absolutely lovely, stylish, spotless, and very comfortable. It captures the sunshine, and is very light and roomy. The host was very welcoming, and even put out fresh fruit and flowers for our arrival. The grounds are very spacious (and felt private even though they were in the host's own household). The parking is extremely easy and accessible. There are gardens to play in, and a patio to lounge in (very nice for sunny breakfasts or an evening drink). We especially enjoyed the birdsong with the local crows and woodpigeons in the evening and morning, as well as the soft chimes of the local church. Gibson, the host's dog, was a big highlight for us: he sometimes came to say hello and was one of the friendliest dogs we've ever met :) Thank you, Gabby, for a special trip. We have already recommended the workshop to friends and family.

comfortable and stylish
Beautifully renovated cottage, very stylish interior. Despite being on the grounds of the owner's house and walking distance from Lydd, the location feels quiet and secluded. The spatious garden and seating area are perfect for having a cuppa and the fact that our dogs were welcome, too, made it perfect.

Perfect Break!
We loved our weekend stay here. The Workshop has been renovated beautifully, it is spacious and very clean - The beds were super comfy and we loved the towels/bedding! Our dog loved the outside space to run around in and the location was perfect, lovely and quiet but only 10 minutes from Camber Sands beach (great for the dog) and 20 minutes from Rye. Gabby and Russell were great hosts, really helpful and friendly, a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely be recommending this cottage to our friends and will be back again!

We had a very relaxing short stay in this peaceful location; the accommodation was very tasteful.
We spent three nights at the workshop. Gabby met us there for an informal explanation of the property and although it is in the grounds of the Owner's house you do not feel on show as there is so much space outside. Our boys loved the garden for football and were particularly taken with the field including ropeswings. There was lots of wildlife to watch including herons. The property was very comfortable and very tastefully furnished; our youngest son also made use of the sofa bed in the living area which was very comfortable! The village was useful for shops and the proximity to the coast and Rye was excellent- we felt very relaxed at the end of our stay. We would definitely recommend to others.

A fantastic property! We loved it and will definitely be back!!
We had the pleasure of staying at this cottage in August 2016. There were 4 adults, 2 teenagers and my small dog Bertie who were able to sleep well and comfortably within the 2 bedrooms (king size and double) and on the sofa bed (big double). The property is finished to a very high standard, with high quality amenities to make your stay very enjoyable. The facilities were excellent and everything you would need or indeed want was at your fingertips, with the lovely Gabby and family at hand should you have any questions. The towels and bedding were immaculate, with even spare dog bowls and a towel provided for Bertie. Gabby was at hand to recommend local areas of interest and we had an absolutely wonderful weekend! it was a lovely, peaceful location with a nice local pub and local convenience shops only a minutes' walk away and enabled a much needed tranquil break from London. The stars in the evening were mesmerising! I've never seen so many! Dog friendly beaches are a short drive away and the teenage boys had a wonderful time watching the kite surfers on Camber beech and were able to hire equipment and get lessons from the kite shop, although they opted to buy a smaller kite instead and had hours of fun! Armed with a picnic, there are loads of options suitable for the whole family close by. Thank you Gabby, we had a wonderful weekend and I can only hope my review does your property and location justice. We definitely hope to be back soon and would highly recommend this property! You will not be disappointed!
