One of the greatest views in the Umpqua region with a very wide and lively stream at the backyard of the property. The sound of river can be heard in the cabin and, with no wifi or tv in the room, it is perfect place for digital detox (restaurant area has wifi). Food was pretty great (ravioli pasta is phenomenal). To our disappointment, the library was closed due to staff shortage. A bar is operation inside the library in normal times.
We felt like we over paid. The patio was not private and the parking was tight. We both also had back issues the next day, since the bed was too firm. We wont be back.
Quaint property with well manicured grounds and outside seating. Elaborate menu choices for all three meals, every packed picnic lunch for us for our waterfall hikes.
Location on North Umpqua Fiver provided great setting and soothing sounds to relax on the porch or fall asleep to
Great staff, excellent food, lovely photos in room, toffee, comfy cabins, beautiful setting of trees, river, steep bank opposite cabins, lovely sound of the river.
Great stay, comfortable run with a deck over the rushing creek. breakfast was good, no fridge but free ice is available for guests. Good location for white water, crater lake, many nearby trails, and hot springs. Staff was very friendly welcoming
Incredible location nestled in the Umpqua National Forest. The sights and sounds of the rushing river were so peaceful and calming. Definitely recommend a visit if you're looking to unplug and relax.
The restaurant was very ni e. Our cottage was 1/2 mile from the rest of the hotel. There was NO WIFI, TV OR PHONE SERVICE. . IT WAS CERY UNSAFE GIVEN THE FREQUENCY OF FOREST FIRES.
Worst night sleep I have had unfortunately. The bed was absolutely awful. Dinner had little options and very expensive. We waited an hour for just a simple breakfast and ended up having to leave without any food. It was pretty and the room was cute but that is all I have good to say about it really. I was not impressed at all for the outrageous price of this place.
We were looking forward to seeing the North Umpqua and doing some hiking and fishing. The weather was pretty cooperative and mild for Oregon in February, but it wasn't the best trip:
1. The Inn was closed for the season. We reserved a cabin but didn't realize that ALL services would not be available. They mentioned their main dining room being closed but it could be clearer that food of any kind would not be available.
2. The gift shop was closed for inventory, so even snacks could not be purchased. The closest market and dining options were 20 miles away. And very limited.
3. Sadly, the North Umpqua hiking trails were mainly closed do to blow down and landslides from the burns of a couple of years. It's such a gorgeous place and that was a huge disappointment. Also, the Closest Ranger Station was closed during the week. Not the best.
4. The cabin we stayed in was nice, modern and faced the Umpqua River. But no wifi. No internet. Thankfully we didn't bring the kids along...they would have rebelled! And no DVD player. It could be that the Inn itself had those services but it was closed.
Next time, we'll plan a better time to go. It's worth it for the scenery and the area is supposed to be top notch for fishing. And proximity to Crater Lake is a plus if you've never been. FYI: Diamond Lake is close by and has a people mover and sliding hill to keep kids entertained.
