Located in the heart of Cathar country, in a small hamlet (at the end of a dead end) between Carcassonne and Foix, this tastefully furnished villa will offer you comfort and tranquility. You will enjoy its breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and its protected and heated pool.

The property is three miles from Mirepoix, charming medieval town where you will find all the amenities and services you need (restaurants, shops, local markets, entertainment, tourist office, cinema ...).

To visit in the area: city of Carcassonne, caves of Niaux, prehistoric park, subterranean river Labouiche, forges Pyrene, Montsegur and other Cathar castles, gorges of Aude, mountain lakes, Canal du Midi, Limoux cellars. ... (We have been offering our rental on Abritel since 2002).

A deposit of 500 euros (not cashed) will be returned directly on the spot at arrival in cash for foreigners or check for French.

Perfect location
A perfect location near Mirepoix, Limoux, Carcassonne and numerous places we didn’t get to see…. Charming hosts and a lovely house - tranquil and superb views. Great pool too - perfect temperature. A couple of electric fans would be a useful addition for hot weather.

This villa is the perfect family residence . Fantastic grounds , many acres , which the dogs loved . Have fun on your own personal golf course , table tennis , trampolining and larking around in the superb heated ( 30 degrees) pool . Very rural location which is ideal for cycling and walking yet only 5 minutes drive from Mirepoix with its many restaurants and large supermarket.Yves and Carole , the owners , were always available and communication , prior to our visit , was excellent . We are already thinking of booking next year.

Amazing location if you like peace and quiet!
We rented this property for two weeks and were not disappointed in the slightest, the views from the property are stunning at every time of day. The pool and all around facilities are excellent, so much so that you don’t have to venture anywhere if that’s what you’re looking forward to other than to get food and drink! Carole and Yves were great at communicating throughout and provided a couple of additional items when we asked. We would thoroughly recommend their place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Beautiful location
The house is in a totally quiet rural spot with great views. The house is well equipped with everything you need. We all loved the pool and sitting in the shade of the trees. Great location for cyclists with close access to voies vertes towards Lavalenet and towards Bram and the Canal Du Midi. Only minor criticism, no handtowels only a bath towel each provided. We would love to come back again.

Delightful getaway!
A spacious, light and comfortable property in a beautiful setting, with an excellent range of options for both activity and relaxation to suit every age group. Makes a great base for trips to the mountains and the coast, as well as must-see inland towns such as Carcassonne. Nearby Mirepoix has a great range of shops, restaurants etc as well as a fabulous weekly market. Easily one of the best properties we have stayed in (there have been many!)

A gem, perfect for an extended family holiday, in rural Occitanie five minute drive from Mirepoix.
Carole and Yves' beautiful property is located on the edge of the tiny hamlet of Severine, on a south facing hillside, deep in the Languedoc countryside, with outstanding all-round views from sunrise to sunset. The historic mediaeval market town of Mirepoix is a pleasant five minutes drive away where a great selection of boulangeries/patisseries await for breakfast. A very large, bright, open plan living room/kitchen with comfortable sofas, sits at the centre of the house and provides direct access to the south facing patio for alfresco dining. The master bedroom, with adjoining shower room, is located to one side of the living room, and three further bedrooms and second shower room lie a few steps down on the other side. Externally, the large, well-tended garden is a safe haven for young children, but Carole and Yves also own many acres of the adjoining ground where they have set up a fun "golf course" between the trees. The holiday "star" however, is the heated outdoor swimming pool, safely fenced off from the garden in a sun trap, and provided with paved surround and sun loungers; an adjoining, brick-built BBQ overlooks the swimming pool. Our party of eight, (six adults and two small children), spent a wonderful fortnight in Severine. The property is well equipped, but we would suggest two small improvements. First, we travelled by plane from Scotland, so baggage was greatly restricted. It would benefit house guests enormously to have towels provided, as is the case in most other properties we have rented, especially when a swimming pool is on site. Second, although bed linen was provided it could have been in better condition, and it would be preferable to have additional bed linen for parties like ours that stay a second week. This would have avoided the "wash days" in the middle of our holiday! These are very insignificant issues however; Carole and Yves are a lovely couple, and it was an absolute pleasure for our family to occupy their wonderful home for two weeks in glorious sunshine.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans une maison très chaleureuse et très bien équipée notamment pour les loisirs. Proche de Mirepoix tout en étant dans un environnement très calme. Point de départi idéal pour visiter cette très belle région. Les propriétaires sont charmants et disponibles. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !

We spent one week in the wonderful house of Carol and Yves. The house is in good shape, well equipped and has a transquill surrounding. We enjoyed the Pool, had good times on the patio and tried our best at the small Golf course. We will come back - That is for Sure.

Un coup de coeur !
La maison est superbe, on s'y sent comme chez soi. La piscine chauffée est un vrai plus. Chacun avait son espace (parents/enfants). Nous avons pu profiter de tous les équipements (ping-pong, salle de musculation pour mon grand, le golf - c'était une première pour nous, la pétanque ! Il y a énormément de livres sur place aussi pour le plus grand bonheur de tous : ma nièce était ravie !). La maison est au calme et nous avons pu profité des ânes voisins :) Il y a beaucoup de chemins de randonnées aux alentours et la ville de Mirepoix est vraiment très jolie (et pas loin du tout). Nous avons passé un super séjour et pensons y revenir (si nos grands garçons veulent toujours partir avec nous :) ). Merci à Monsieur et Madame LAFONT pour les très bons échanges et à Sylvain et Rachel pour l'accueil !

Un joyau caché !
C'était quoi tout ça pour nous ! Cette belle maison est magnifiquement cachée du haut d'une colline. Seul le bruit des oiseaux murmure à vos oreilles. Pas de circulation du tout et la vue est magnifique. Beauté à 360°. Mais ce n'est pas comme si tu étais complètement abandonné. A 5 minutes en voiture il y a une station essence, une banque, de bons boulangers et bouchers, et l'une des plus belles places de marché de France. La maison avec beaucoup de charme est entièrement meublée. Equipé de tout. Nous n'avons manqué de rien. La piscine bien entretenue et chauffée à 30°C était idéale pour se détendre. Bref, pour nous super et l'un des meilleurs que nous ayons eu, et il y en a déjà quelques uns...

Calme au dessus des champs et des bois
Propriété isolée au clame et en pleine campagne. Environnement magnifique apaisant dont on peut profiter du lever ou coucher grâce aux baies vitrées bien placées et à la situation exceptionnelle de la villa. Multiples randonnées au départ de la maison. Compte tenu des prestations (piscine/salle de sport/ping pong/trampoline:barbecue/golf/...) et du tarif, on aurait pu s'attendre à avoir un kit minimum à l'arrivée en terme de produits de première nécessité et une bouteille d'eau au frais. Le congélateur minuscule sans bac à glaçons digne de ce nom est à revoir. Nous avons du acquérir et avons laissé aux locataires suivants ce que nous aurions aimé trouver à notre arrivée. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter dans cette belle région qui est pleine de ressources à découvrir.

Une semaine très reposante et sportive dans cette maison confortable et bien équipée, bonne literie, espaces spacieux, belle décoration. Piscine très agréable en cette période de canicule et salle de sport très bien dotée avec vue sur la forêt. La terrasse sous treille bien ombragée avec une très belle vue sur les environs vallonés et très verdoyants de Mirepoix est un pur bonheur. Calme absolu. Une belle adresse, des hôtes charmants. Nous reviendrons!!!

Mooi huis in een prachtige omgeving
We hebben genoten van onze vakantie in Roumengoux. Het huis is perfect in orde en de ligging is echt fantastisch. Rond het hele huis heb je een prachtig uitzicht. Het ligt vlak bij mirepoix, een heel mooi stadje met alles wat je nodig hebt. Ook de regio is de moeite waard om te ontdekken. Een echte aanrader dus!
