Majestic Lakefront Log Cabin located in the NC High Plains

Cozy Log Cabin located on Lake Mayo in Roxboro, North Carolina with easy access to a functional floating dock. Great for fishing, swimming, meditating, or to just relax and enjoy nature. Can be used for a private romantic getaway or family retreat. Our cabin is located on the private side of Mayo Lake with no access to the main lake, which means you can enjoy the lake without worrying about excessive boat or jet ski traffic. If you have a boat, you will have to launch it from Mayo Lake Park (5 miles). Less than 5 miles from the events held at Mayo Lake Park.

If you like fine wine and a great environment to enjoy wine tasting, you can visit Tunnel Creek Winery approximately 5 minutes away. You just might get lucky and stumble upon a live band or DJ playing at the venue.

If you are renting during the Spring, Summer, or Fall, there are numerous events that occur at Mayo Lake Park. Mayo Lake Park offers lake access to boaters, canoeing, kayaking, an ADA accessible fishing pier, three playgrounds, a nine hole disc golf course, and eight picnic shelters. All Mayo Lake Park facilities are convenient to restrooms and are connected by nearly six miles of natural trails.

Our lakefront cabin is the place to come to relax and enjoy nature, but if you crave the nightlife, downtown Durham is approximately 40 minutes away where you can enjoy night clubs, trendy restaurants, Breweries, Durham Bulls baseball, or a concert/live theater at the DPAC. Or, if you want more nightlife adventure, downtown Raleigh is approximately 75 minutes away.

Firefly Heaven!
Love coming up to Roxboro to visit the grandkids. We all love fishing and watching the stars from the dock. Everyone enjoys having a fire each night and making s’mores. The kids favorite activity was catching the fireflies! There are so many that they sparkle like Christmas lights. Always a joy coming to the cabin to spend time with the grandkids. With the pullout couch upstairs, there’s room for everyone!

Montez and Teresa Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven on earth with us! We hope to be back soon. We came as a little fishing getaway and hated to leave. Great communication with the owners. Directions that were provided were so helpful. The cabin was so gorgeous. The grounds were beautiful and the lake was amazing. This is a fishing paradise as this is part of lake that is private which we loved. We took our baby bass boat and was able to put in down by the dock. You will get a little exercise going down to the lake but so worth it! Lots of water to cover in a boat. We also caught fish right off the dock. This place is so peaceful and relaxing.They do provide liens and towels. The kitchen has all you need to cook. All you need to bring is your toiletries, clothes and food. If you need something there are a few places and town not too far away.

Perfect weather to enjoy the lake. Warm enough to paddle board, kayak and swim. Nights were cool enough for porch sitting. Really appreciate having a bathroom and bedroom on both floors. Love the loft, a great area for the grandkids. Always a nice relaxing week to reconnect with family and the cabin is perfect for our needs.

Relaxing weekend away
We stayed here for the long weekend and absolutely loved it. Our two kids floated and swam on the lake, went fishing, roasted marshmallows and had a wonderful time of play and relaxation. Quiet Paradise
Love how quiet this section of Mayo Lake is. Really enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding. My son was excited to catch a bass and the grandkids love playing on the spacious dock. Great place for quiet family time to connect with nature. The grandkids had so much fun trying to catch fireflies. Definitely a memory maker.

A secluded spot to recharge and enjoy the lake!
Our family had a wonderful stay at Montez and Theresa's cabin. Coming from Raleigh, it's amazing how being so "close" you can be transported to a totally different world just an hour away. The property is surrounded by picturesque sprawling farmland. The pictures in the listing don't do it justice. The cabin is beautiful and the private dock did not disappoint. This home is well-appointed with everything you need. The beds, bedding and couches were all extremely comfortable. We did our grocery shopping at home and brought food for the week after seeing the proximity of stores to the house. We cooked every meal for our family of five there and it worked out perfect. We fished off the dock and swam daily. The kids loved feeding the fish and watching them from above The picnic table and umbrella provided much needed shade and allowed us to have snacks and lunch by the water. A wiffle ball game in the yard and family game nights on the covered porch were a great way to end the day. (The fire pit and provided wood looked great, but we had rainy evenings so we didn't get a chance to use them.) We would definitely recommend this home and hope to visit again!
