The property is convenient, clean, and the staff is very friendly. The boat parking is really nice. We stay here every time we come to fish Lake Wilson.

Clean, safe, local, and cost-effective
This place is doing about as much as it can with what it has. It's definitely quite old and certainly outdated. It has some very aged components and a few things that are recently updated. The things that need work are the floors, the plumbing, the door frames, the mattresses themselves, the electrical, the fixtures. The bathroom counters, the stairs up to the second story rooms, the ac units, and a few of the furnishings (beds, tables, dressers) showed some evidence of somewhat recent updates. I happened to arrive with my kids the week before the pool was to be cleaned and opened, which was unfortunate. The breakfast was a bit more "homemade" than a lot of hotels nowadays, which is a good thing. Overall, I would stay here again, the kids loved it and we felt safe and clean. Those are the only things that really matter.

We stayed in Russell going to and on our way back from seeing family. This was hands down better than the other similar priced hotel option. Bed was comfortable and they had hot breakfast in the morning…. Good hot breakfast. It even had apple cobbler. Biscuits were soft. Will remember this for future trips.

I would go back to Kansas to stay at The Lodge again! The room was fantastic with enough space for everyone. They had a tie out for our dogs to let energy out. The breakfast was delicious and had everything you could think of! The staff was amazing as well.

Great Place
Really enjoyed staying here. Everyone was nice and friendly. Tub area could have been cleaner but overall it was a very nice place to stay. Breakfast was good...there was even a bread pudding. We will definitely stop by again in the future on our way back from trips out west of where we live. Convenient, right off I-70.

They are very accomodative at checking in at all hours (we can never seem to calculate the time zone shift correctly). Their breakfast buffet is excellent... Did notice we lacked some blankets in the room and was a cold night (60 mph winds, etc); but this was never a problem during prior stays.
