To be honest I rarely take the trouble to review places after staying there, but I felt I owed it to these people to make the effort! I wholeheartedly recommend it on every level: the location is idyllic, right on the bank of the Dordogne right opposite a small island, where we watched herons, egrets, swans and a kingfisher. The welcome was delightful: our hosts stopped what they were doing to bring us some refreshment and stayed to chat for just long enough for us to get to know one another. This was typical of their warmth and attention to detail which made the whole stay so enjoyable: a small but immaculately tended pool area, and beautifully restored and furnished rooms. Each room has tea making facilities and its own small gravelled terrace area outside, which made it feel more like a small apartment than a hotel room. Breakfast (included) was exceptional, with an array of home made preserves and other small touches. The place is small and there were only a few other guests, all of whom seemed to be on return visits - we could see why, as one night really wasn't enough. We too hope to return some day!
