Set in the Normandy countryside, with many tourist attractions within 30 minutes

Lakeview Cottage is a sympathetically restored building attached to the farmhouse, which is our holiday home. It is situated down a country lane just off the main road and there is ample private parking in front of the farmhouse. It is in a rural, peaceful location but not isolated, with the charming village of St Denis Le Gast a 30 minute stroll away.

Downstairs, there is an open plan kitchen, dining, and living area, and a child's high chair is also provided. There is a comfy sofa and two armchairs, along with a TV which has French and English Freesat channels. Wifi is free.

Also, there is a downstairs cloakroom with WC and hand basin. The staircase leads to the first floor bedrooms and a child safety gate is also provided. The master bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. The upstairs bathroom has a sink, toilet and there is a shower over the bath.
Duvets, pillows, bed linen, towels, tea towels, toilet roll and cleaning products are all provided. Electric, gas and water are included in the rental cost.
Outside, the cottage has its own private lawned area, with steps leading into a communal garden.

A parasol, table, and chairs are provided for outside dining.

Within the grounds there are two lakes, where you can enjoy watching and feeding the fish (unfortunately fishing is not permitted).

ST DENIS LE GAST - is a 2km drive away, or a 30 minutes walk. It is a small attractive village with a church, a bar and a small shop.

GAVRAY Sur SIENNE - is a 5km drive away and is a bustling little market town with a range of shops. It has 2 supermarkets: U Express (also has a petrol station) and Proxy Super. Amuse-Bouche is an upmarket delicatessen. There are bakeries, butchers, banks, and a post office, along with several bars and restaurants, and a tourist office.

Market days are Wednesday morning (food and produce ), Saturday morning (food and produce) and also on Saturdays there is a popular livestock market. There is a pizza takeaway shop and a kebab take away shop as well as various take away vendors who pull into the market place by the church on various days/evenings.

Beautiful location and great accommodation
The property is set well away from the main road and is surrounded by lovely gardens and two ( very ) large lakes. The lakes are full of extremely friendly fish, that are always to be found swimming near the edges of the bank. All of the facilities were of a high standard and everything was very clean and well kept. The location is close to Gavaray, which we visited on more than one occasion. This town has a lovely quaint village feel to it, with plenty of useful shops and a variety of great restaurants/Pubs. Will definitely return as it was an extremely pleasurable and relaxing break. Highly recommend.
