Loved the history of the Hawthorne. Everything was easily accessible and within walking distance. Loved the available parking and suggestions from staff on food and attractions. They also allow you to park until 4pm the day of check out which was so helpful.

Great property. It is an older historic building. The store was closed while we were there but we did eat at the breakfast restaurant which was good. Great location in the middle of everything.

All good til parking situation lft a bad taste....
Everything about our stay was amazing - unti we were leaving. It appears that the parking attenants were packing in as many cars as possible into the lot. So many that the exits were blocked. When we asked how to get out wewere told "give me 10 minutes" - where nothing happebed. We created our ow exit with other trapped guests. Ad asked that one of the double parked cars be moved and tge attendant yelled some obsentities and refused to help. It was unreal. And what a way to end a great trip.

The Hawthorne hotel was very nice. But the room we got was on the smaller side. Which was fine. But the lock on the doorframe for room 409 was really sketchy 😳 I had to push up on the metal part just to be able to lock the door. And wasn’t really secured into the frame.

A beautiful, historic hotel smack-dab in the middle of Salem, walkable to shops, dining, ghost tours, Witch Museum(s), and what-have-you. Very easy, free parking directly adjacent. Excellent breakfast, professional desk staff. People that complain about the shower and toilet/basin being situated in separate, small rooms likely haven't traveled in Europe. We had no problem with this, and it's fine with me if the shower doesn't steam up the mirror you need to shave in front of.

While I appreciated the location, the hotel had no amenities. $300 a night was a ridiculous price to pay for zero amenities. No pool, no fitness room, and no complimentary breakfast. I feel gypted.

Nice old-fashioned hotel, which is a good reason to stay here. Very nice front desk people and though the rooms can be small, they're comfortable.
