Little Log Cabin in the Woods
Lovely Log Cabin in a perfectly peaceful setting surrounded by nature. Need an escape and a little serenity? This is the place for you! There is wifi and streaming television but plenty of natural beauty to keep you occupied. Comfortable and quaint.
********4WD/AWD recommended for access on unpaved mountain road*************
This cabin was awesome. Pretty remote but also close to town. They were not kidding about needing AWD/4WD. The road to the house was steep and slick from rain and the driveway was also steep. I have an AWD suv, it did good but I really tested it at this cabin. The cabin is so cozy and perfect for a mountain getaway.
Quiet setting surrounded by woods, large comfortable deck arrangements, rustic cabin with all the amenities we needed. Very clean and comfortable inside. Host and property manager very responsive.
I LOVED this cabin! It was exactly the cabin feel I was going for on my solo mom-vacation. Instructions were simple and I had everything I needed. Perfect location, far off in the woods. The host wasnât joking when she said you need 4WD - the dirt/gravel road is about 2 miles, with lots of steep inclines. My 4WD handled it fine, just be aware. I will absolutely be back!! Thank you for such a lovely and peaceful stay in adorable Saluda
We had a nice, long weekend at the Owlâs Nest. The deck was a great place to relax. The weather was enjoyable and it was the perfect quiet getaway we were looking for.
This beautiful cabin was the perfect getaway for a girls weekend. Cozy and clean, and a short hike to the cutest town with some amazing food. If A/C is an improtant part of your vacation then rest assured that a nap in the loft will change your life. It is much bigger than it appears in the photos. We will definitely be visiting again.
I've wanted to stay in a log cabin for some time now, and this one will be hard to top. It's forested, end of the road location make it a quiet respite from a frenetic world, although nearby downtown Saluda is far from frenetic - and that's a good thing! The deck puts you right in the middle of the forest, and the only sounds we heard were the running creek down the mountain from us and occasional birdsong. We ate out a lot but could've prepared a variety of meals with the kitchen accommodations, and did cook some steaks on the grill one night. The main bed was comfy and sleep was deep. Do pay attention to the host's warning about the necessity of 4/All wheel drive vehicles needed for access. I somehow missed it (SMH) and could not get up the gravel road to the home (100-120 yards) with my front wheel drive car, until I tried it - and succeeded - in reverse. That said, I rarely looked forward to this exercise, especially after a night out due to visibility issues. I also had to do this when leaving the property, but it was a much shorter distance to the crest of the hill. Nevertheless, don't count on making it up like I did and instead come in a 4/all-wheel drive like the host recommends. We'll bring ours next time!
It is a good place to get away from it all. Furniture somewhat vintage, but overall a good place for people trying to escape from the city. Make sure you have entry instructions before you drive up there because there is no cell service internet available. There is internet by WiFi once you do check in.
