The Haven House is the perfect place for your relaxing vacation! Located in the once active logging and fishing community of Fairhaven, the Haven House is just across the bay from historic old town Eureka, and minutes away from the sandy shores of the beautiful Samoa dunes. This quaint, residential area is quiet, private, and boasts easy access to both Arcata and Eureka. This space is filled with amenities to make you feel at home, and is ideal for small families, couples, and small groups.
The space
This comfortable two bedroom house has a kitchen, and full bathroom and will accomodate a group of up to five people. The primary bedroom boasts a king bed and the second bedroom holds a queen bed. The living room offers plenty of seating for you to unwind, and the attached dining area provides space to share a meal. The kitchen is stocked with essentials. The bathroom includes a shower and tub combo. The house is equipped with cable TV, wifi, and internet service.
The Haven House provides easy access to the hub of shopping and entertainment on the North Coast; Eureka is just a 10 minute drive away and Arcata is 15. Dine like a lumberjack at the historic Samoa Cookhouse or grill fresh oysters at Humboldt Bay Social Club, both just a 3-5 minute drive from the house. Or ditch the car to walk to local beaches in under 15 minutes.*if you want to plug our location in, an easy option is to write “Humboldt bay social club” in maps…we’re less than a mile away *
Guest access
The driveway allows for two full-sized vehicles; two more cars can park parallel to the front yard. Guests have full access to the entire house, including the backyard area. The neighborhood is safe, and the neighbors are quiet and respectful. The detached garage is not accessible for guests at this time.
Other things to note
Because of our location, high-speed internet is not available, and you may have trouble streaming a movie or having a Zoom call (unless you use your cellphone). We have broadcast television, plus a collection of DVDs, books, and board games for your entertainment.
As with many Humboldt County locations, you may hear the occasional rooster crow from neighbors’ backyard flocks.
We include a house manual with curated recommendations for your stay in Fairhaven.
