Bad thing happened. Crockett Hotel allowed a diesel truck to park next to the hotel at 5am. This was right under my third floor window. For the next hour, the truck continued to idle. It got worse. The truck was collecting from hotel restaurant grease trap. From 5:30 to 6:00, my room had a very unpleasant oder. That's why I figure it was cleaning the kitchen grease trap.

Currently the Alamo Plaza is under renovation. Construction noise. If the Alamo is one of your destinations, the Crockett Hotel is right next to the Alamo plaza. Walking distance. Rooms are small and bathroom needs to be renovated. Bed and pillows are not comfortable. It's sister hotel, The Menger, sits across from the Crockett and might be a better choice. The Menger offers better amenties including it's larger inner courtyard pool and an excercise room. These can be used by Crockett guests, but inconvenient. Both have a bar/ tavern but The Crockett Hotel's is definitely better.

The bathtub filled with water when showering. Had to stand in a foot of water. Rooms could be updated especially the bathroom. If I would have known there was construction, I wouldn’t have stayed there.

Fantastic location, amazing staff and as soon as you walk in, it smells beautiful. We forgot some very important items in a night stand and the quickly overnighted to us. Will stay there again.

The motel itself was WONDERFUL. Rooms were small but super clean. Unfortunately there was construction right across the street making it a bit more difficult to access Alamo but didnt affect access to Riverwalk. The construction shut down early though so it didnt interfere with sleeping. Would definitely stay here again.

We had no issue with cleanliness of room. The only criticism is the small, inconvenient bathroom. And the valet service is iffy. In theory, the procedure of sending a text so the car can easily be retrieved by text, is good. But we never got the text so we had to chase the car down when we wanted to leave.
