This hotel was much better than the reviews I'd seen online - it looks like they've really cleaned up their act, literally. For a budget stay we would recommend it.
The main selling point is the location. You are a 1 min walk from 2 supermarkets providing a wide array of food, souvenirs, etc. Also across the street is a "fun pub" - great if you are sports fan, or from UK/ Ireland with games until 2am. The apartment itself has a lovely balcony and sunloungers which were quiet, the pool is cold saltwater but we found this quite refreshing. The complex itself is quiet, even with "noise" from the street you can get a good nights sleep. Great for couples.
We were pleasantly surprised to receive housekeeping and wifi, however the wifi was intermittent so we mostly just relied on EU data packages. Housekeeping was hit or miss with some days they didn't turn up, other days turned up at 9am, and some days didn't clean parts of the rooms. The room comes with no hand soap.
By far the worst part of the stay was the check in experience. We were late arriving at around 8pm due to flight delay. From when we initially checked in the gate (about 8 foot tall) was left wide open. This didn't happen again throughout the stay but was a bit unnerving. Nobody on check in desk and no instructions given, phone numbers listed on desk had no response on the first few calls. It would have been useful to receive check in instructions in case of late check in. The safe in the room also did not work.
