Spend your relaxing beach getaway in our recently remodeled and updated 2 bedroom, 1 bath property on the water in San Diego's unique community of Ocean Beach. Enjoy our perfect location on the fenced back yard patio including several sitting areas, an outdoor table, a gas grill, and a door leading right out to Dog Beach. (We love dogs and do not charge extra for pets!)

Your vacation experience starts with an off street parking spot right in front of your door.
Just inside the door is the newly remodeled living room with a brand new couch and 50" 4K Smart TV. Fiber wifi and cable are included, with streaming apps accessible through the TV. The couch has a convertible bed for additional guests as well.

Down the hall is the larger of the 2 bedrooms with a queen sized bed (new Serta iSeries 2.0, new bedframe and nightstands), a TV with Roku and a large closet complete with an assortment of fresh robes and slippers. There are extra blankets/pillows in the closet.

Further down the hall is the spa bathroom complete with tub/rain shower, vanity space for 2 and a glass pedestal sink. The shower is lined in slate style ceramic tile trimmed in slate and limestone and the vanity area and back splash are glass mosaic tile. There are plenty of fluffy towels to pamper you and a powerful hair dryer.

The back of the house features an open area including a new kitchen, dining table, and lounging area with a door out to the patio. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, appliances, and utensils for your convenience. The adjacent lounge has a small couch, lounge chair, a wicker rocker, and another flat screen TV with DVR access.

The second bedroom houses adult extra-long bunk beds along with a built in desk and another closet complete with fresh robes and slippers. Its window looks out onto the patio and back yard. There are also 2 twin air beds with linens. The pillows are encased in hypoallergenic covers that are washed after each use.

Walk out the back door and you will find the renovated patio with deck, gardens, and plenty of options to enjoy the outdoors. Relax under the sail shades or soak up the sun in lounge chairs. Here guests may also be greeted by our friendly resident pup, Kairo. Outside the back gate is our newly constructed game area. Horseshoes anyone? Just beyond is the paved path out to the beach adjacent to the San Diego River estuary, a wetland sanctuary for birds such as blue herons, snowy egrets, pelicans and osprey. The beach on the left is for people and the beach on the right is Kairo's favorite spot, a unique off-leash area for dogs to run, swim and socialize!

We are happy to share that with San Diego's new Community Power options our home is now powered by 100% renewable energy sources.

Worth noting:
Like all of Ocean Beach and much of Mission Beach we are less than 10 miles from the airport, so planes do travel overhead. We have insulated the walls and roof of our property, and the City of San Diego requires that take-offs and landings cease between 11:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Most guests say they seldom notice the planes inside the unit though for some guests they’re a mixed blessing. However, watch the skies closely and you could catch a glimpse of a fighter jet from nearby Miramar Air Force base which was the setting for Top Gun.

Great location-dogs were so thrilled!
Great stay! Dogs loved it and it was so nice being able to walk out of the back gate and have a very short walk to the dog beach. The owners definitely have the place set up for the pups, with dog wash stations, dog blankets for the furniture, and some toys etc. The full kitchen was great and well appointed for being a smaller space. Was just perfect for what we needed!

Great Place for Dogs and Their Parents
My friend and I had a wonderful stay at this cute house located steps to the famous dog beach at Ocean Beach. I'd like to start by saying that it is extremely difficult to find a house close to the beach that has a yard and allows dogs (without added fees or dog size restrictions). The house was perfect for our needs (there were two of us adults and two dogs). There is a fully functional kitchen and a beautifully appointed bathroom. The two bedrooms were clean and cozy, and the beds were comfortable. The parking spot looks tight due to the wooden poles framing the driveway but we were able to fit my Santa Fe SUV just fine (and with a little room to spare). The best parts of our stay for us were the availability of a back yard and Greg's caring and compassionate character. The back yard is shared with Greg, his wife Clara and their beautiful and well-behaved dog Kairo. They are very mindful and respectful of their guests. Our privacy was prioritized. When we booked, I shared with Greg that one of my dogs is a little fearful so our fur babies never met. The other highlight of the trip was that Greg hung out with my fearful dog for a couple of hours so that my friend and I and my other pup could go paddleboarding together. Greg also baked a pizza for us in his oven while we were sorting out some technical issues with the oven in our house. The kindness and compassion we experienced were awe-inspiring. We will definitely be back. Thank you Greg, Clara, and Kairo.

Beaches for days
It was a wonderful place with lots of accommodations. It was a stones throw from the beach and walking distance from tons of great restaurants. It was only 10 to 15 minutes drive from many of SD attractions.The backyard was beautiful and an excellent place to hangout when staying in. Would absolutely rent again.

16 Year Anniversary
We had an amazing stay at Greg and Clara's place Wanderlust Oasis. It was so nice only being a few minutes walk from the Dog Beach and downtown Ocean Beach. It was so relaxing and a very comfortable place to stay. We were able to bring our 2 fury family members so it made our 16th Anniversary celebration complete to have them and our two sons their as well. Thank you Greg & Clara!!

Dog Paradise
The backyard and easy access to the dog beach made this the perfect place to stay with our dogs. The owners thought of everything you would need for your dog including a dog wash station, bowls, and blankets. The home is clean and comfortable. In addition to the beach, It is an easy walk to coffee and restaurants. We will definitely stay there again.

There is mold on the bed and the seasoning has expired.
our unit#1 was on the ground floor and there was another unit upstairs, which was not mentioned on the website, otherwise we would not have rented this place. By the time we came back from a walk on the beach at around 5pm, someone upstairs and the noise from children and dogs was very noisy. The sound of running footsteps made a loud sound just above our heads, and it didn't slowly quiet down until after 12 o'clock. The first night experience was terrible. the next morning, I could see more clearly that several areas of the beds were covered in mold. What was even worse was that the bathrobe I wore was very dirty, and found most of the seasonings in the kitchen were expired, and because there was no dishwasher, we put some dishes in the sink to wash by hand, Unexpectedly, the sink was completely clogged, and we had to use the toilet plunger to let the water flow down. The lids of some pots were covered with a thick layer of dust. We took some photos and videos. We reported to the host the issues and we left. Fortunately, we found a room in the hotel del Coronado. For the sake of health, we sincerely hope that VRBO should stop listing this property.

Nice little get away
We absolutely loved our stay! It was great to be just a few minutes walk to the beach. Our dogs loved it, too. Thanks for all the extras for our furry friends (treats and bowls). Location couldn’t be better, out the back gate and you're at the best dog beach in CA. Ocean Beach is definitely scruffy as are everyone’s dogs, it’s quiet (yes there’s airplane noise during the day (whadareyagonnado?) but it’s away from the fray of the city. There is no other town where dogs are so welcome as is this rental. Greg and Clara’s attention to cleanliness and detail is terrific, so many thoughtful touches.Great place, thank you!

It was a great place for our dogs with an enclosed backyard. ~3 minute walk to the dog beach. ~10 minute walk to a lot of bars and restaurants in Ocean Beach. The hosts were communicative and the place was clean when we arrived.
