The staff was friendly and professional. The facility was clean and comfortable. When the shuttle driver was late, they called a cab at their expense to get us to the airport in time to make our flight. The hotel is spread out and our room was located a distance from the lobby. We had to walk a distance to our room with our luggage which was not ideal. All in all it was a decent place to stay.

I'll start with the check-in process. There were no rooms available and the check in clerk said they would be one ready in 1/2 hour. We waited 1/2 hour and then she said it would be ready in 1/2 hour. I told her that there can't be just one room in the hotel. She did nothing. Fortunately, another clerk overheard and found us a room. Very poor customer service, never even a "sorry this happened". Then the "tower" was under major construction all through the first floor...dusty, confusing, doors locked, very inconvenient. Never even a possible concession "meal voucher", "room rate reduction", nothing. Again poor customer service. The room itself was reasonable, but not above par. Had to request towels one day, changed coffee maker the next day, not enough seating, just average at best. I also stayed at a Pittsburgh base HI Express and it was average to poor at best. That review will follow. So suffice it to say HI Express did not delight us on this trip.

Great find
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean & stylish. Reasonable prices for the on-site restaurant and room service. The room was immaculately clean and well stocked with toiletries. It was too cold for the pool, but it looked clean with plenty of loungers. The room and grounds look like the photos on the listing.

My husband and I checked in extremely late, I would say between 130-200 am. I was very hyper due to overexhaustion, and the girl behind the desk was so kind to me and my husband. She did not lack for information and was extremely courteous. if I ever come back to San Diego again I will definitely stay at this hotel!
