Property had a nice ocean view and was steps from the beach. There was lots of “party noise” from surrounding businesses until late night/early morning. Close to bus stops which made getting around town convenient.

Staff were accommodating and very friendly. Outdated and really old but nice location. Beachfront location was awesome. Plenty to do. Food smell from the restaurant we had to shut our balcony door.

recently stayed at Surfer Beach Hotel with my friends. Overall, the staff were very nice and friendly, which made the check-in process smooth and welcoming. The room itself was clean and well-kept, which we appreciated. However, the hotel’s facilities are in serious need of updating. The building and rooms have an old, musty smell that was quite noticeable. The door to our room was extremely difficult to open and required a lot of force, which was frustrating. It’s clear that both the room and the building need a remodel to bring them up to more modern standards. While the hospitality was great, the outdated condition of the facilities made our stay less enjoyable than we had hoped. I hope to see the new building near future.

A True hidden gem!
A beautiful and surprising location. Inwas skeptical at first, the whole to good to be true vibe. But this place met and surpassed expectations. Great location with plenty of night life, bar scenes and restaurants just a two minue walk away!

I’ve stayed at the Surfer off and on for years. It’s old. That’s never going to change. But it’s the cheapest place ON the beach. Parking used to be free. It isn’t anymore. Shower in room 214 (at least) was either scalding hot or cold. If you’re basically just looking for a place to sleep after being on the beach all day and going out at night, it’s the best.

My mother is disabled Unfortunately there is only one wheelchair accessible room available. We made the room work. But the room was very tight. We had a ocean view room and my mother was not able to enjoy that part of our stay because there wasn’t enough space to get her wheelchair through to the balcony. Overall, everyone was friendly The room looked much nicer in the pictures than in person However LOCATION is amazing and the view from our room trumped all the negatives during our stay.

Comfortable perfect place on the beach!
Love staying here because of the location. It's on the beach with an awesome restaurant downstairs. Steps away from the shore and an ok view of the ocean. Parking is pricey and tight, but ample. Close to other restaurants. Bed is comfortable but needs new pillows, tv, and rooms need serious updating.

Never again. Made reservation months in advance and was put in a room with no beach view or balcony and no air conditioning. Just a swamp cooler for a very hot week at the beach, when I pointed out the problem I was given a small box fan to use…..Never again.

The area and location was amazing , just a couple feet from pacific beach. The waves at this beach were awesome. Although the week we came was not the best, the weather was hot. Note , the hotels conditioning system was not made for this weather , as the rooms have portable AC units. So sleeping was pretty uncomfortable, just really muggy, and sweaty nights. But other than that no big issues, I wish the pool would stay open longer. Pool closes at 8 pm . Also , take note you have to ask front desk for your extra items, such as towels, irons .. etc. so don’t expect to have new bed sheets or towels every day.

Definitely a to go to spot
This is the place to stay when it’s all about beach days, and being out doors. I’m here to sleep, and wake up to the beach view. Easy access to coffee in the morning at woodys, beach walk or swim. Shops, bars, restaurants ,grocery store is all with in walking distance.
Woody is downstairs and you have access through a door to here and the beach.

This hotel is in dire need of renovation. Location is great but everything is old and outdated. The carpet and flooring felt dirty under my feet, the mattress sits on a piece of wood, the shower is tiny, the AC unit is old and doesn’t work well. Not a great stay for my vacation. I do not recommend staying here.
