Amazing view, and great central location. The ocean walkway is perfect for strolling along the ocean. Short walk to Mission Bay, great place for the kids to find water activities to do.

New Years San Diego trip
Hotel parking lot was difficult to find. Check in process was easy. Parking is quite expensive and parking garage was not useable for my car. Room was comfortable but cleaning was a little lackluster. Checked in with a very long black hair noticeable in the amenities tray in the bathroom.

Our stay was wonderful. The location was perfectly located, very walkable and safe area. The view from our partial ocean view room was so nice. The hotel sends you a text when you are checked in and from there you can text the front desk for quick answers to any questions you may have (even recommendations for good delivery options). There is a washer and dryer on site which was a nice surprise. If I am ever in San Diego again, I will definitely head back to the Wayfarer!

If you are staying in an ocean front room, request above the first floor. Otherwise people walking on the bus boardwalk steps from your window will be looking into your room. Staff was very helpful.

Pros:
The hotel’s location right beside the beach is its most attractive feature. The rooms are clean and appear to have been renovated in recent years, which adds to the overall comfort. Cons:
The young front desk lady lacked warmth, making the experience feel less welcoming. And Additionally, the hotel seemed overly focused on upselling, which felt borderline exploitative. Guests are constantly bombarded with text messages to upgrade rooms for extra fees, extend hours for additional charges, or book another night at discounted rates—even after checkout. The Wi-Fi connection process is also tricky, as it’s easy to accidentally select costly upgrade options. No breakfast included and paid parking for $36/night(free public parking just outside the hotel) Overall, the hotel doesn’t worth its rates, especially during the off-peak winter season. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The bed and shower were very nice. Free WiFi wasn't exactly free since internet access was only granted if you agreed to receive ads. All of the outdoor furniture cushions were too wet to sit on. The flooring in the hallway and our room were also wet for our entire stay. Room was very small. Fridge had no controls and was so cold everything became frozen.

Great hotel, right by the beach
Located right next to the beach. The rooms were comfortable, despite being a bit tight to have two suitcases open. Everything was clean and staff were very helpful and accommodating. There were great eats located within walking distance, and it was super helpful having parking available onsite. San Diego Zoo was about 15 mins drive and Legoland 10 mins from the hotel.
