Everything from the service of the employees to the facilities was efficient and convenient. The free breakfast was delicious. We would stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.

The interior of the property was spotless and safe. The block in which the property sits is transitioning from the homeless being forced out of the tourist areas. Its easy to see why so many properties around the Warf are closed. The hotel was immaculate with a well run staff and was a wonderful part of our vacation and we'd stay there again, if ever the need arises. The valet service was prompt and seemed to take the security of our vehicle seriously.

Last call for the Oakland Colosseum
I stayed in San Francisco so that I could attend the Milwaukee Brewers versus Oakland A’s baseball games. The hotel was not a problem. But the area around the hotel was very sketchy. There is no on-site parking. You have to park In a public parking ramp, that is a block away. I was only a few blocks away from Powell/Market area, But to Walk to this area, was approximately five blocks away, and there were many homeless people who are panhandling on the way. The area outside the hotel had a strong stench of urine. Also amazed at how many buildings around the hotel were boarded up.

The hotel is fine. the area is a little rough. I would call it "Tenderloin" adjacent. This is not the hotel's fault. This is SF. You have a large population of street people. My room was on the third floor with a view of Jessie St. You could see people getting selling drugs and getting high outside my window on the street below. It is all a bit shocking when you first see it, but like most things you deal with it. This is a city you need to be mindful of your surroundings. We walked around the city quite a bit, and did not have any "issues" with the homeless population, but it is very tragic & sad. SF is a beautiful city. When you leave the hotel, turn left onto Mission towards 5th St. Do not walk right towards 6th St. If you are not looking for trouble you will not find it. Parking tip. If you do not need in and out parking (meaning you can leave your car for 24 hours). You can park in an indoor garage right under the Pickwick Hotel on Mission, just down the street (towards 5th) for $40.00 cash v. $85.00 the hotel charges (although I do not think you get in and out at the Pickwick lot). We choose this location because it is an easy walk to Oracle Park, which is a must visit during baseball season. Go to a night game. It is incredible. If you are not stupid you will not have a problem with the area. Just be aware. Not sure I would stay at this Hampton again because of the area, but it did the job. Again the area is not the hotel's fault that handle it very well.

I'm sorry to say that this area is not very safe. Around the hotel there was a lot of homeless people and transients. The front door of the hotel cannot be open without your key but that's if you don't have any issues getting to the front door. They should really have security. I also had a charge on my card from a valet parking when I didn't even have a car. I'm very disappointed in the woman that helped me when I was talking to her about this charge. She was ranting and talking over me and just very rude. Unfortunately I will not be staying at this hotel ever again.

I like how big the room was. It was clean, they changed our sheets once which was great. On the arrival, the first person that greeted us at the front desk wasn’t very nice, but the rest of the staff was very helpful and more receptive when we had questions. There is no parking in this hotel, They offer Valet instead, it’s $65 overnight. Breakfast is included, loved the options. You have fruits, waffles, yogurt, eggs, potatoes, sausages, coffee & teas. Only suggestion is to add AC in this room. The fans weren’t enough. The area is full of homeless, at the beginning it was scary, but then you realize that they don’t represent any harm and they are only in this area, simply don’t look at them & keep walking. Bay Area and other neighborhoods are completely homeless free. Loooved SF. Amazing city!!

The room itself was very nice, especially the bathroom. My two main issues with this place are 1) it does not feel safe, and 2) parking is a scam. When I booked this hotel I did not realize there would be a group of homeless people outside my window yelling and tearing things apart at all hours of the day. I live in an area that’s known for having tons of homeless people, but this was an entirely different level. We were bordering the most dangerous area in San Francisco! There was also a notice on the door of our hotel room stating that if something is stolen from our room, that’s not their fault. Overall, I did not feel safe. Now, the whole reason I chose this place over another was because I thought I didn’t have to pay for parking. That was not shown on their page. Turns out, parking is $75 a night! Insane! It’s either that or leave your car in a public lot to be destroyed and torn apart by the homeless. Had I known about this, I would’ve stayed at a similarly priced hotel in the financial district (safer) where parking was only $30! To end on a positive note, the morning valet guy was nice (nicest employee, night crew sucked) and the breakfast was pretty good for free hotel breakfast.

The staff was exceptional—friendly, attentive.
I recently stayed at this hotel in San Francisco and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. However, there were a couple of issues that slightly impacted our experience. The hotel only had one working elevator, which led to longer than usual wait times, especially during peak hours. While this was a bit inconvenient. The most unfortunate aspect of our stay, though, was something the hotel can't really control—the conditions outside. The surrounding area had noticeable issues with trash and homelessness, which took away from the overall experience. It's a shame because the hotel itself is very nice, but the external environment definitely left an impression. That said, if you need to stay in San Francisco, this hotel is a solid choice. The staff alone makes it worth considering, and the rooms are clean. Just be prepared for some minor inconveniences and the reality of the city outside.
