I wish I had known the workers were protesting right in front of the building! They had limited staff and it showed. The room I booked wasn’t clean when I walked in. There was mess everywhere. They put me in a new room that was on a lower floor and didn’t refund any money. Housekeeping never cleaned our room. Concierge lied and said they would bring up my uber eats delivery and never did.

When booking The hotel failed to mention that there was a major strike outside, so everybody was very loud and hitting drums. Also, everybody failed to mention the hotel iwas in major construction. The lobby was closed. The restaurant was closed very disappointed.

It is a great hotel on Union Square. SF has Union Square very nice these days- cleaned up, well-lit, couples and families there even late at night- so that all helps to make the hotel a wonderful experience. The lobby is being redone, so that will also be excellent again soon. Concierge, front desk, and bellhops were friendly and helpful. The rooms were not super exciting except for the views, but what more do you need in SF?

No room service or restaurants open in hotel
At this point there is a strike at some of the larger hotels including the Westin, I wish I had known this in advance of booking. Unclear when it will be resolved. If you want food, you have to order food through one of the food delivery services and go down to the lobby to pick it up.

There is a strike going on and there are no services in the hotel. The hotel is under renovation you cannot enter or exit out most doors. The bar room service and restaurant are shut down. The noise from the strike is loud and obnoxious. The are banging trash cans and buckets They have a make shift bar in the lobby I spent $50 on two drinks in plastic cups.They should have let people know this is all going on I would have stay elsewhere.I feel ripped off cause I paid top dollar to stay here!

The hotel is always a beautiful place to stay, however the strikers made noise from 6am until 10pm in the evening. Sadly, the constant banging on garbage can all night and morning took away from our special getaway weekend.

Four out of five elevators not functioning in the main tower during our stay = long waits. Expedia should have let us know that the hotel staff were on strike. Hotel workers on strike during our stay and started their drums and banging at 7am. San Fran surrounding area is fairly unsafe, we had to park our rental underground as advised by rental. Valet service quite expensive 80 usd per night.
