It was such an attractive, creatively put together and decorated place. The bed was especially comfy, and the ceiling fan was strong and made good white noise (needed in this busy city). I had the idea that it was closer to the airport than it was, but it was worth the bit of extra time it took to get there. Good value!

We had an excellent 7-day stay! Luis and Jorge were amazing and made us feel like part of the family. Then we met Colin, who was the icing on the cake—full of information and history, and always ready with directions and help for everything we needed. Oh, and the continental breakfast provided each morning was incredible! The fresh papaya and pineapple are absolutely to die for. The only minor downside was the church bells, but after a day, you get used to them. The price, the stay, and the experience are all worth it. Trust me, you won’t lack a thing during your time at Jungla Urbana in Costa Rica! There is a restaurant and bar, olus super market atvthe corner. A gew blocks down is the American Ambassy. You have to try it to belive it.

This was supposed to have 2 beds, but one was a pull out couch with no pillow or sheets. We had to request that. The room had glass blocks in the floor which was over the kitchen so at night when someone went into the kitchen it automatically put light in our room. It was supposed to have a breakfast but it was nothing more than a loaf of bread in a kitchen you could toast yourself and coffee. This was not a breakfast. The bathroom has a large step down and I almost fell when i got up during the night and forgot about it. Definitely not for elderly people. The worst part was finding black hair in the bed sheets.

The perfect oasis in San Jose

What an incredibly charming an amazing home! I stayed here just for 1 night before heading back to the states, after a weeklong trip throughout Costa Rica. As soon as I arrived, I knew that it was the right choice to stay here. This is an incredibly lovely space, and the pictures don't do enough justice to how amazing it is. The entire room that I stayed in, #7, was set up so terrifically, with access to the outdoor patio (below), a large bathroom, and an incredibly comfy bed. I am so sad I didn't stay longer! Plus, look at those cute paintings on the walls, how can you not love that! The staff was also terrific, specifically Jorge, who made me feel so welcome and cared for. I will definitely return as soon as I'm back in the country — muchas gracias, amigos!

Hosts were on site all day and always accessible. Very helpful and congenial! Exterior is not special, but interior of B&B is terrific. Spacious rooms, a beautiful shared patio, complete shared kitchen. You can walk to a number of restaurants, and drive to many more within a few minutes. The only negative for late sleepers is that the Catholic church on the corner rings it bell early in the AM.

David and his family are wonderful. They were generous and kind to me and were genuinely caring about my well-being. Their home is lovely and I hope to stay there again. The beach is very close (3 minute walk). I loved listening to the jungle sounds. I did not enjoy the more than expected traffic on the little dirt road but I would need to go deeper into the jungle, further away from conveniences and the beach if I wanted to get away from that kind of noise. It was still quite most of the time at night. Thank you!

Tout parfait, à part qu’il y a eu des travaux, le 1er jour de 10h00 à 20h00, impossible ni de faire une sieste ni regarder un film et ni téléphoner, 2eme jour de 7h45 du matin à 12h00, 3eme jour dès 8h00 du matin… des gens qui parlent fort dans les couloirs des 6h30 du matin sans se soucier des clients. Étant directeur dans l’hôtel restauration, c’est difficilement acceptable, personne n’a aviser de cela. La moindre chose est de prévenir les clients. Sinon merci à Luis pour sa réactivité et disponibilité.
