Our room was upgraded which was exciting until we went to the bathroom which was covered in ants. The cabinet the TV was on looked like someone kicked the bottom out. Honestly was the worst best western I've ever stayed in and not worth the price.

We arrived at 10 pm the door was locked and we had to stay outside by lobby window and they where not happy because we arrived with RV and she was trying to get more money for parking because of the size and next morning there was lost ants in the sink

Thoroughly Enjoyable Stay
We stayed at Best Western San Juan Capistrano for 13 nights. Every attention to comfort was there without the costly price: spacious room, comfortable bed and pillows, quiet room heater AC unit, good sized and absorbent towels, amazingly huge complementary breakfast, daily maid service and courteous staff.

Arrived at check in time and there was only one employee checking in. It took about 35 mins waiting for it be be my turn and once it was my turn it took me roughly 3 mins. The room we got was on the corner upstairs level, kind of dark outside didn’t feel the safest. The room looked like one of the older rooms with older furniture, there were some stains on the counter dust on the floor, just didn’t look cleanly

Rented 2 rooms and 1 room had mattresses so hard it was like the fake beds in the stores advertising bed linens. Also I reserved queen sized beds for both rooms and both rooms had full size beds. The chair in the room didn’t feel safe to sit in. Breakfast options were great.

We recently returned to our favorite spot for visiting the San Juan Capistrano Mission, a place we’ve cherished for years due to its convenient location. Each visit has always been special, and we usually treat ourselves by booking a room with a balcony, even though it comes at a premium compared to regular rooms. In the past, the balcony was a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee, with a little table and two chairs set up for relaxation. However, last year, we noticed a slight change—there was only a single chair. While this was unusual, it was manageable. But this year was a real disappointment: the balcony was completely bare. No chairs, no table, nothing. When we called the front desk to inquire, we were met with an explanation that balcony chairs were simply not available. It’s puzzling and frustrating to be charged extra for a balcony room that lacks the very amenities that make it worth the price. It feels like a missed opportunity for the property to maintain its charm and value. We hope they reconsider this policy, as we truly enjoy staying here and would love to continue our tradition with the comfort we’ve come to expect.

We had ants in the bathtb. The room smelled dirty old smell bought fabreeze to spray. Sink leaked. All over bathroom sink counter the front desk was not very informative on anything world series chanel. 11 did not work. Will not be staying there again.

Very antiquated hotel. Pictures are misleading. At least the room is clean but not impressive. AC thermostat doesn't work so froze all night Room has a musty old smell to it.
