My husband and I had been to the Luquillo area of PR 2 years ago. We were very excited to return this Spring Break/mid-March with our 16-year-old b/g twins.
The property is accurately described and adequately suited our family's needs. We typically made breakfast at the condo and enjoyed coffee on the veranda. The kitchen has a cook top, but no stove. This is PR and you don't need it on vacation anyway! I simply wanted to point this out.
One bath towel and beach towel are provided for each guest. All the usual supplies are on site. And Mirnalis is one text away for help, suggestions, needs and she is simply wonderful. If you have a question, reach out. She is there to help. We were grateful for her assistance at check in, as noted. I appreciate her running through the basic in person.
We loved Chacky's because of the location! To get to the kiosks and beach, go LEFT, down the street through the residential area as far as you can. Go until you hit the sports field, cross through it and you are at the Kiosks or can walk on the beach. My husband and I walked that way most morning and took a quick dip in the Balneario Luquillo beach area before returning.
Go the RIGHT, walk to the basketball court, and you can enter another beach area. Go down the beach further and you will quickly hit the "Beach House". Great drinks and great empanadas here! They close around 5, so go there for a HH cocktail.
Now...Keep going down the beach, cross the shallow river, keep walking around the bend and you will come to the Wyndham Resort. You can walk up from the beach. Dining and drinks available there too.
With 16 year olds we also walked to Vagon for dinner. Go for the fish tacos for SURE. I also recommend the pinchos sold many days just up the street, where the road meets the Highway 3. $3 each, chicken or pork.
For swimming and a beach day, we drove the short distance and parked at Luquillo beach. Load those chairs provided in the trunk and enjoy the day (MARCH guests).
We came from cold, snowly MN and had a great time with our teens.
( * I understand ocean conditions change with the season in PR. Please note this review is for mid-March. There were Rip Tide warnings daily. Be aware of the conditions and be safe. And of course, that has nothing to do with the condo, but I say it as I noted "swimming" which may not be deemed safe my some.)
