My husband and I stayed for 4 days at Planeta Atacama and had a wonderful time. Katia, the manager, was there to greet us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful. She showed us around the hotel, helped us with suggestions on tours and the best places and times to visit the sites. We enjoyed lots of chats with her and other hotel guests in the common area too.
The rooms are gorgeous, spacious and have the most amazing view of the Andes. The thick, clay walls are great for insulation and it was nice to go into a fresh space when it was very hot outside (we visited in summer). The beds are very comfortable, the shower was great and had very nice toiletries available.
Breakfast was included and it was very nice with a spread of cold meat, cheese, bread and fruit. They also offer eggs and fresh juice which was great. The communal kitchen is also available for you to make your own meals during the rest of the day.
The location is on the outskirts of town so it takes about 20min to walk from the bars, shops and restaurants. We did it the first night but given how dark it is, we decided to drive into town the rest of the nights. There are bikes available at the hotel too which you can borrow but the road is very bumpy and dusty.
Overall, we loved our stay at Planeta Atacama and would recommend it.
