We loved our time on the island, and this condo was clean, comfortable, and had a gorgeous view. We were so enamored, we began thinking about when we could return and how long we could stay next time.
Some details: Pros: The view. It’s just paradise, sand and palm trees and the turquoise water as far as the eye can see. The pool: comfortable temperature, just a couple feet in front of the building, right on the beach, lovely. The dock and gazebo on the end of the dock: so charming and pretty, lit at night. There are kayaks available, and the water in front of the condo was calm and shallow. Plenty of parking for our golf cart. The apartment was clean and well furnished. They provided bedding, towels, soap, detergent, washer/dryer right in the condo, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, utensils, and a 5 gallon container of drinking water. We cooked for ourselves several times during our stay. We had several tv channels and internet access (although the internet was a little spotty at times). The AC worked very well and was very appreciated at certain times of the day. We absolutely loved sitting on the balcony, reading books, eating lunch, looking out at the water, and watching frigatebirds, kiskadees, pelicans, flycatchers, and more - so many beautiful birds! We had plenty of space (2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a kitchen/open living area) - more than enough for the two of us staying here. It was quiet, felt very safe, and the other occupants of the 12 unit building were friendly and pleasant.
Cons: We didn’t mind this, but you might want to be aware that getting in and out of town takes a while - about a half hour by golf cart, along a very bumpy road. We were also a bit surprised at the amount of litter on the island, including in the lot bordering our building to the north. The beach in front of the condo is raked and cleaned daily, so our spot was lovely. But just be aware that the island is not pristine. And finally, if you were hoping to swim in the ocean in front of the condo, you might want to reconsider - there’s quite a lot of sargassum and sea grass. We really enjoyed snorkeling out at Hol Chan and Mexico rocks, but didn’t swim in the ocean in front of our condo.
