Excellent Hidden Gem
Excellent location, literally over the road for a stunning beach and short walk to some nice restaurants. This was a great choice for us as it was so close to the Calais ferry port and we really enjoyed our stay.

A very quaint find. Our chain hotel overbooked and cancelled our reservation but Expedia agent found us this family run hotel. It was way out of the area of Calais that we were expecting to stay at and we needed to take a bus to get there into another town. Unfortunately the bus driver was of no assistance in where to let us off at so that was stressful, but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. Such nice Owners, who waited for us to arrive, greeted us in English and put us last minute into a lovely little apartment with a sitting area and fully stocked kitchen, that we didn't need at the time. This would be so handy if we were staying longer in the area. He even escorted us to the suite, a nice touch and gave us lots of information about the area. Bed was very comfy. Right close to the beach, so we were able to walk on the very large beach. Breakfast the next morning was lovely with your typical foods, but they were very fresh and lots of yummy selection of cheeses locally made and fresh breads. We would definitely stay there again if we were in that area.

Quite a tired room
It was ok, very friendly staff but our apartment room was quite tired. One of the electric sockets was hanging in the wall, the underside of the sofa bed was full Of crumbs and dirt. Generally the room could do with a really good overhaul

Good for the price
Very welcoming and pleasant owner/manager greeted me and helped me to my room. The hotel also has Gite and studio accommodation. It is not luxurious (except for the excellent pool and spa) but is clean and comfortable and well priced. Sangatte is a typical channel seaside village. The walk along the sea wall was lovely in the evening sunshine. It's very convenient for the tunnel.

Lovely little apartment hotel with a nice indoor pool and sauna. It was a shame the restaurants close by were closed, in the absence of any evening dining or bars it would have been nice if the hotel had its own bar. Will definitely stay again.

Good accommodation. I fancied a beer, but there was no bar open on site, and no bars in reasonable walking distance. Next time I'd visit a supermarket first and use the fridge, although I prefer the atmosphere of a French bar. Friendly staff who speak good English.

Right on French Coast. Can see White Cliffs of Dover from ocean front rooms. German gun bunker in hillside above town and on beach a few kilometers away. More like B@B than hotel room. Memorial to WW1 sailors who keep supply lines open for Allies on hill above town.

Not as expected
Check in was good and efficient. The apartment ( it was not a room) was not clean, and there were many restrictions as to the time we could use the pool, not after 8 pm and not between 12 and 14.00, so we never got to use the pool. Then the first day we were told we could stay longer, to use the pool after 10 am to 12 pm, but that all changed the second day so we did not get to use it at all ! Look in the corners and in the bathroom; not very clean. When we booked, we did not understand that the rooms were "apartments"; we ended up needing only one with the four people but two of us had to use the bedroom in the loft; not easy to use the ladder to get up and down and no bathroom up there to use at night.

Great place to stay
The owners were very helpful. Food was great. Great swimming pool. Room with a view was amazing. We are already planning another trip back to stay there again soon as 4 nights not enough!!. We only live across the channel so will be making this a regular place to visit.

A good place to stay in the Pas de Calais
This hotel is very well appointed. The accomodation is gite-style - our unit had a very comfortable bed - TV - a well appointed en suite bathroom - good heating - and also a kitchenette and seating - dining areas so that we could have self catered meals had we wished to. Breakfasts are available in the main reception. Everything was spotless and the location is (1) good for driving into central Calais, (2) reaching the Eurotunnel and Car Ferry terminals, (3) Exploring the Cote Opale and its beaches. Good off street parking.

Nice hotel and convenient for the Tunnel.
We only stayed one night on our journey back to England. The room was spacious and comfortable and we had a sea view which was really nice. The only down-side was the tiny shower cubicle that you had to squeeze past the washbasin stand to enter. I kept banging my elbows on the side panel whilst trying to shower. The breakfast was satisfactory but I've had better in cheaper hotels. I would stay there again and probably will as it is so convenient for the Euro-shuttle back to England the next morning.

Generally very good.
Location was perfect for us catching the ferry back the next day. Good value for money. Staff were helpful and breakfast was good. Apartment was nice and clean but a pity about the €45 charge for room cleaning if you didn't do the list of jobs they left (including stripping beds and cleaning bathrooms). There were puddles of water on the floors near the windows in the morning after a night of heavy rain but otherwise no problems.

Nice Views, Nice quiet area.
The apartments are clean, but they are very cold inside and the inside itself looks nothing like the pictures on the website. The hot water ran out after one person out of 4 had a shower. We had to wait a number of hours for the water to heat up to have a shower. ( We called the land lord twice) As we were self catering we also wanted to wash up, but had to wait until the next day to get hot water as we had used it to have a shower. We were so looking forward to staying at the hotel/apartment due to seeing the lovely photos. We were so disappointed when we arrived. The views of the sea is worth seeing. The area is very near to Euro Tunnel easily reached in 10 minute drive. Take a trip to see the other towns which are also very quiet. Take warm clothes as the apartment is really cold, and some warm slippers too. I expected a small discount for the hassle of having no hot water but I was surprised that they had taken the money from my bank account before I checked out. I thing that the photos should be updated to show what the rooms are like now rather than what they used to look like. In all I dont think I would return.

Great location for early morning shuttle
Lovely place - the garden was full of games for the children - including a trampoline which was perfect for them to exert loads of energy after 7 hrs in the car. The beach is over the road and great for a wander and to watch the kite surfers. The welcome was very warm and friendly, and room was spotless, if aging a little, but just fine for an overnight stop.

find a better place
When we arrived we were offered a studio instead of a room at no extra cost we were happy and took the offer. The room was clean and tidy and shut all the windows and put the radiator on in the bathroom and went out for a meal, where she had suggested just down the road, perfect we thought. When we arrived back some hours later the room smelt of dogs and phoned the owner up who gave us a can of air freshener and offered us another room at this time we could not be bothered to move. We noticed a sign to say that we had to clean the room ourselves and strip the beds, otherwise a charge of 35 euros, not happy. The morning everything we had smelt of dogs and we had many bites not happy, when we checked out the owner was adamant that no dogs had been in the studio for many months, what can I say, give it a miss.
