Comfortable but needs regular maintenance
This is a relatively new hotel. When we lived in Santa Barbara, we watched it being built. Most of the room was pretty well maintained and relatively clean. However, some parts of the room started to show inconvenient wear and tear. The barn door to the bathroom doesn't close all the way because of a loose bolt on the rod. This was extremely frustrating because we had a young baby and needed to be very quiet while he slept. We weren't able to take a shower or flush the toilet while he slept because of the bathroom door. Positives: - The beds were comfortable - Generally friendly staff - Well-kept lobby area

UCSB Gem
Visited on a weekend getaway from Los Angeles to visit our UCSB daughter. Loved the hotel. On the newish side but starting to show a little age. Really close to UCSB, across from a Target and kitty corner from an outdoor mall area with shopping and restaurants. Spacious lobby with modern amenities. Breakfast is served but there is a charge. The rooftop bar is really fun, happy hour menu was great. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Bathroom was on the small side but adequate. Only negative is the carpets really need a good cleaning. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
