The Light House is a gorgeous home in the Highland Parks community, with a large community resort-style pool, and near the always popular Blue Mountain Ice Cream shop! The neighborhood has a quiet, secluded feeling, yet you can bike to the beach and several restaurants. Enjoy the amazing pool with whirlpool, 360-observation tower, grilling area, and fire-pit with comfy chairs and couches, where you can sit, chat and enjoy your favorite drink with your family and friends.  There is a large covered open air gathering area where you can cook and grill by the pool. Walk from The Light House to the pool area along the nature trail located just outside the back door of the home. From the 4 story observation tower you can see the gulf, the bay, and miles along the coast to Seaside and Sandestin in either direction.

The main floor has a large dining table (seats 6 and expands), 4 bar stools at the counter, and open, bright, and airy living room. The gourmet kitchen has everything you will need to make delicious meals for your family! There is a large pantry to put your groceries away. You will find a large 55” flat screen TV in the downstairs den. The large master bedroom on the first floor has a king bed and a 40' flat screen TV. The master bath has a beautiful travertine tile, walk in shower, plus high granite counter tops. There is a private back deck off the downstairs master bedroom facing the wooded trail leading to the pool. This back deck is a wonderful spot to enjoy your morning coffee in a quiet, natural setting.

The second floor has a large 2nd master bedroom, with king bed with a Flatscreen TV. The beautiful large master bathroom has a walk in travertine shower and plenty of storage in a large walk in closet. There are two large, second floor queen bedrooms. Each bedroom is whimsically named and labeled by a painted starfish hanging on the door. There is 5th bedroom on the second floor with two twin bunk beds that sleeps four. In the upstairs hallways are two full bathrooms with soaking tubs and showers. A utility room with full-sized washer and dryer is located just off the kitchen next to a half bath.

There is a lighted walkway from the back of the property that leads directly to the pool area.  There are 2 grills located under the awning in the pool area, along with a large flat screen TV, couches, tables and chairs.  Perfect for a cool down! 

Highland Parks is the newest neighborhood in Blue Mountain Beach featuring a fantastic neighborhood pool with a waterfall, hot tub, gazebo, fire pit, snack bar, and observation tower. The area is the highest point in South Walton County and surrounded by great eateries and local eclectic shops. Highland Park is perfectly situated between Redfish Village and Gulf Place Town Center on Hwy 30A! Enjoy dining at local favorites The Perfect Pig, Red Door, Local Catch, or Basmati's. AREA ATTRACTIONS: 

Seaside is a fantastic destination, most widely known for being featured in the Truman Show with Jim Carrey. Its incredible architecture has helped to make it famous but also its faithful replication of the kind of seaside town that used to be common up and down the coast. Seaside has its own Farmer's Market, post office, Repertory Theater and neighborhood school. It boasts unique shopping, fantastic cuisine and the incredible architecture that makes Seaside famous, There are activities for everyone; kayak rentals, bike rentals, paragliding, fishing, golfing, hiking, swimming, tennis -- you'll find it all right here.

Bike rentals are available and within walking distance at Big Daddy's Bike Shop (2217 W. Co Hwy 30A) for you to take a ride along scenic 30A.

Bike over to Blue Mountain Beach Creamery for some homemade scoops that will have your taste buds coming back! You'll have an array of dining options to choose from!

The snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Sea Turtle Reef, deployed in 2017. Located just 783 feet out from the Grayton Beach State Park access, it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Sea Turtle Reef is at a depth of 12-19 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

Very Deceiving
When looking for a rental home for my family of 12 this property was deceiving on many levels. The sleeping for 12 wasn’t accurate! The bunk beds were not suitable for adults not to mention their wasn’t a door to this room! The parking for three vehicles didn’t state they would have to be compact cars. We had two suburbans and one midsize car that didn’t fit in this extremely small drive. We had ordered two 6 seater golf carts that their was no room for. This caused issues with home next door that called the owner of home which lead to a phone call to me from rental company. Had I known it was not enough room for vehicles and golf carts I would have selected another property! The hall bathroom ceiling leaked and the oven knobs were broken which caused issues with cooking. The bathroom knobs were loose and the bathroom towel rack was broken. The kitchen wasn’t Equipped with the right Kitching cooking tools need it for every day living. The refrigerator icemaker did not work! I had to call maintenance and they came out to say they’ve been to this property very often. For the amount of money I paid for the week I was very disappointed and will never rent this property again. The pool and beach were not as simple to get to as they stated. Our family made the best of what we had to work with, but I do not recommend this property to anyone. It needs great work and would cause the next door neighbor less stress if they would have been upfront on the Accommodations! Very Disappointed Do Not Recommend to anyone!

Lovely Home, issues with dryer, disappointed with property management communication
Lovely home, bare essentials in kitchen, had to purchase a cutting board and acceptable kitchen knife in order to adequately prepare our meals. Blender and toaster barely worked. Dryer was in need of repair. Property management told me the issue would be resolved on Tuesday. I called on Thursday to find out when the issue would be resolved. I was told someone would contact me, however no one did before we checked out on Saturday. Beds were uncomfortable for several adults in our family. There were spiders in one of the bathrooms, but it was manageable. I thought the management company would want to know. We have celebrated our family reunion in the Santa Rosa Beach area for the last 7 years and have never had issues like these before. For the price of the rental, I was expecting a better experience.

The neighborhood is lovely. The house suited our needs with the exception of having enough seating in the living room. And really this was only an issue in the evenings when we were “in for the night”. Bedrooms were very spacious. Make sure you run the bathroom fan in the upstairs hall bathroom when showering otherwise the steam will set the fire alarm off!!! Overall, a great place to stay for our two families(4 adults, 4 teens)

Overall, we loved the house. It was spacious and well kept, and a great location to the pool and beach. There are a few maintenance items that need to be attended to, that are likely overlooked in the in-between guest stay cleanings. And we had to re-wash all of our clothes when we got home because it all smelled faintly of smoke.

The house was the perfect size for 7 adults and 3 kids. The location was great. A major thing was the way the house smelled. We arrived late and noticed what seemed to be cigarette smoke smell. I called the management the next morning to tell then about the smell. A guy came over and said that this is just the way the house always smells. They had no other place for us to move to so we stayed. I am now doing loads of laundry and spraying febreeze on things to try to get the smell out. ! My grandkids toys even smell bad. Its a shame because the house was the perfect size for us. I did call real joy vacations to tell someone to check on the house. Would love to stay in the area again but not that house! I do agree with some other reviews that the beds are not comfy!

Lovely home close to everything you need!
First & foremost, the house is absolutely stunning. It is beautifully decorated & very spacious. We had 6 adults & 2 children & we never felt like we were falling over each other. We ate dinner together at the table a few nights during our stay & there was plenty of room for all 8 of us. The kitchen was well equipped with plates, cups, bowls, etc as well as larger bowls for mixing & a colander. We had plenty of pots & pans for what we made & there are also small appliances such as a toaster, blender, coffee maker, & even a crock pot! The pantry was enormous had more than enough room for everything we brought with us. The house has a tankless water heater & we never had any issues with water pressure or the hot water running out. We all showered everyday (sometimes more than once) & sometimes even running different showers at the same time. The 2 master suites have very large walk-in closets with plenty of space to unpack & dressers. The 2 queen bedrooms had decent closets but there weren’t any dressers. Also, there were no closets or dressers in the kid’s bedroom, so we ended up using the dresser in the upstairs master suite for their clothes. We all thought the beds were a bit too firm for our preferences but it wasn’t unbearable. For the most part, the house was very clean when we arrived. However, there were game pieces under the entertainment center in the living room as well as some pieces of popcorn on the rug. We also found cards & poker chips down in the couch cushions while searching for my son’s tablet. This wasn’t a huge deal but made me wonder how thoroughly things are cleaned between guests. There is a lot of construction in the area as other reviewers have mentioned, but we never really heard a lot of noise. The construction crews do park all up & down the street so it’s a tight fit while driving. I also felt that we were left to figure out a few things on our own as there aren’t any instructions for finding the pool or what the bracelets were for. When you come in the front door there is a table with 12 turquoise bracelets with a paper stating how many bracelets there were & that there was a $50 charge if any of them were lost. It doesn’t say anything about them being for the pool or even where the pool is. You have to wear 1 of these bracelets while swimming in the community pool so they know you’re allowed to be there. Also, to get to the pool you go out the back door & follow the path and take a right. It's a short walk.

absolutely fantastic!
I hate to write this review because I want this house all to myself, BUT!! if you are looking for a spacious home that's beautifully appointed with enough bathrooms for all -- this is it!!! We have vacationed in the Santa Rosa Beach area for the past 18 years and this is far and away the best place we've stayed! The community - (minus all the construction that was going on - and really not noisy - just caused congestion on road) was terrific -- wonderful pool and jacuzzi area with lounge area with large screen tv so those who wanted to could watch the World Cup! this is truly a special place and I don't see us going anywhere else for the NEXT 18 years!!!

The place is beautiful! Great layout for gathering together. Wonderful community pool and hot tub. Close enough to a nice beach access although you will need to drive there. The listing does say 5 Bedrooms but the kids room doesn’t have a door, it’s just an open room. I’m not sure with our large family we would rent this home again because we need five bedrooms. I also agree with the other reviews about the beds being less than comfortable especially the bunk beds, which are wobbling about in a frightening way. We did have a scorpion in our bed sheets, so I do hope the pest control will be addressed, but that is probably a fluke incident. Lastly, the most disappointing item from our stay was the construction all around of new homes. It will be lovely when everything’s complete but it would have been nice to be warned about that. Hammers banging and saws buzzing with no real peace to be had. And after a long year a little peace is what I wanted from my vacation.

Absolutely beautiful house! Very spacious & great location!
A little drive to Seaside, which we preferred to get a little out of the craziness. Bike rentals very close & bike paths everywhere. Absolutely beautifully decorated house & plenty of space for the 9 of us. Just FYI - there is construction near this property, but it never really bothered us. The kitchen is fairly well stocked, but I would recommend bringing some supplemental supplies if you plan on doing a lot of cooking. The AC had trouble keeping up with us during the day, but it always caught up at night & we woke up to a nice cool house. The garage is full of leftover rafts, chairs, & beach toys which were nice to not have to go out and buy (we added a few to the mix). The pool is a short, shaded walk away & the pool area was just incredible. Our favorite food spots were The Donut Hole, Shunk Gulley, Basmati's, & the Local Catch. Beach access is close by, but the parking is limited - we were able to make it work each day though (I wouldn't recommend walking - a bit too far for that). There are nearby gas stations, Walmart & Publix for all of your grocery/vacation needs - which was super nice. And, even though we had 9 people showering every single day, we never had an issue with the hot water or water pressure - which was a nice surprise. The 2 queen size bedrooms do not have TVs or ceiling fans & the walls are fairly thin, so I would recommend bringing a fan or a noise machine if this is an issue. The bunk room does not have a door on it, if privacy is an issue. But, we seriously had no complaints. We traveled as a family for the first time to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday & this house was a huge part of our trip's success! Thank you Light House!

Wanted to stay longer
Very spacious, new and very clean home. Pool area was easily accessed and large enough to not feel crowded at all. We had no trouble finding you and had easy access to lots of activities and food in this area was awesome. Kitchen still needs a few more items if you fix two meals a day at home like we do. But do not let that keep you from staying at the Light House. Two master suites were divine!

The home is very updated with plenty of bathrooms. 8 kids use them a lot! A 4 minute bike ride to the beach and shops. Side note: bring a good set of knives if you plan on cooking every day.

Overall, my family vacation was great! No complaints. The residence we occupied was well worth the expense. Will definitely use Homeaway.com again for a good reference.

Perfect house for the whole family!
We loved the house. Beautifully decorated and in a neighborhood with a great pool and lounging area. If the Gulf were right out the front door, it would obviously be even better but we rented a golf cart and could reach all the amenities of our area of 30A with no problem. It's a booming neighborhood and I was concerned about the noise of so much nearby work but it was never an issue. Probably a little under a mile to the Blue Mountain Beach access and a quick trip by car or cart. If you're like me and have a big family and can't swing tha price of beachfront in this area, you won't be disappointed by this lovely property!
