'Heart of Palms' in the gated, Gulf front community of Old Florida Beach is a quiet retreat for both families and older guests. Just 30 yards from the Community Heated (during certain seasons) Swimming Pool, 50 yards to the dock on Draper Lake and 100 yards from the luxuriously wide Beach.

Professionally decorated with all new Chef's Kitchen, Two Master King Bedrooms (1st floor and 2nd floor), Four Bathrooms - Master with jetted tub, rainfall shower in second Master. The first floor has one Master (King) with jetted whirlpool tub/shower and second bedroom and separate full bath. Chef's kitchen with all appliances and marble counters is fully equipped for the gourmet cook. Time saving family-sized washer and dryer is on first floor off of the kitchen. An outdoor shower is located next to the entrance to the laundry room.

The second floor has another Master Bedroom (King) with walk-in rainfall shower and french doors to covered balcony. An additional large bedroom has 2 queen beds. From the second-floor hallway, step out to the wrap-around mostly covered deck where sunbathers can lounge in the sun or families can share a meal or a nap under the tin-roofed deck. View sunsets over the Gulf from this vantage point.

Just off of the kitchen entrance, you'll find a separate gas grill.

AREA ATTRACTIONS:
Nearby, walk to favorite local restaurants: Goatfeathers with local seafood market or Cafe Tango. Just down the road on 30-A, walk or bike to Gulf Place shopping center for more restaurants, ice cream, clothing stores, wine shop or pharmacy. A bike path connects all of the communities along highway 30-A including Seaside, Watercolor, Grayton Beach. The outlets of Sandestin are only a 15-minute drive from here. Golfers may play at the Santa Rosa Beach and Golf Club only 1.4 miles away and other golf courses nearby.

For the nature lover, Draper Lake Preserve edges along the Old Florida Beach neighborhood and has a dock just 5 houses down the street from which you may fish or launch a canoe. Only three other areas in the world have these 'coastal dune lakes' that connect to the ocean through the sand dunes. This shallow channel makes a safe area where young children can play for hours in very shallow water.

Nice area with amenities few drawbacks
The good - great quiet neighborhood with pool, beach and access to draper lake. walking distance to restaurants. bedrooms have great mattresses and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Nicely decorated house. 30A vacay was very quick to respond to my emails. the downside is the kitchen oven was rigged to get it to close in order to cook anything...needs to be fixed or replaced. Cooking utensils/pans were beyond there usefulness. There is no pantry of any type to put away food and the living room is very small and i cant imagine having 10 people in there...we only had 5 so it was fine. There is a great large upper deck but not practical to sit out there in the heat. It was fine for us but I wouldn't say it would not be okay for a family of 10.

This was our second time to stay at this location. We have stayed in Old Florida Beach 9 times now. We love the neighborhood ! It is easy beach access and a quiet neighborhood.

Awesome house, neighborhood and beach
Very well stocked house, easiest walk to the beach ever, quiet neighborhood, not crowded on the beach, wonderful sleeping arrangements for a lot of people, loved all the bathrooms, so nice to have bikes provided and 2 chairs and umbrella on the beach. Best neighborhood and location on 30A!

Great stay for Fall break!
We had a great time here over Fall break! The property was just as pictured and had plenty of space for our family of 6 adults and 2 kids. The community pool is a short stroll away from the house, and the beach access only a few steps further. We loved the location and would definitely recommend to others.

Great stay
We’ve been staying in Old Florida Beach every summer since 1999. This house is in a great spot, has been nicely decorated/updated and has plenty of room. We had five adults and two kids there and everyone had a comfy bed and lots of space. Prices have gone up dramatically, though and we’re about to be priced out of the neighborhood. The only issue we had was that it must’ve been termite swarming season. Watching my iPad in bed attracted many flying termites to the screen. I’m sure it was just related to timing. All good!

Great area, beautiful home
Very close to the beach, and apparently on high enough ground to weather through hurricane Sally without trouble. Needless to say, we spent a LOT of time in this house, and we were happy with it. Plus, management was quick to respond and get things fixed when we had issues with the internet and the AC. Definitely on my list of properties for next years trip (hopefully sans hurricane).

Heart of Palms - Old Florida Beach
The house is nice and in a good location, but a couple of issues leave a bit to be desired. Echoing an earlier review, the house had not been cleaned well prior to our arrival; surface cleaned, yes, but obvious it was a rush job. Found a bag of pumped breast milk in the refrigerator, and floors still sandy from previous guests. Given we occupied during the COVID-19 re-opening, we figured the cleaning crews would be extremely thorough in the guest turnover cleaning process. Bigger item is the ice maker in the freezer doesn't work and it's not disclosed on the property description ("Chef's Kitchen with all appliances full equipped for the gourmet cook"). We called the property manager the day after we arrived to let them know that the ice maker was not working, and she said she would arrange for someone to come out the next day. Two days later, we called back (left a vmail because no one answered directly) as no one had come to the house to inspect the ice maker. When the property manager called back, she apologized for the delay in the service call, and said she would have someone bring us two bags of ice to help us with the ice maker problem. When the person arrived with the bags of ice, he said the property owner is aware of the broken ice maker but has chosen not to fix it. This is a major inconvenience at a beach property, especially one which costs this much per night to rent. At the very least, disclose the issue so guests can be prepared to make an ice run each day (which we did). Overall, it's a nice property in a good location, but cleaning remains an issue and guests need to be aware of the ice maker issue.

Great house in great location just a few blocks from beach and only a few steps to pool. Property managers were very good at addressing small problems when we first arrived and did a good job. Really enjoyed the house

Heart of Palms and VRBO
Everything VRBO did was great and house was nice. The home was not very clean when we arrived. Food (chips, bugs, etc.) under coffee table in family room, dirty Q-tips and other items in bathroom on main floor bedroom towards front of house, trash drawer handle and door were sticky with food on them. When we wiped off the kitchen table, with cleaner before we ate, our cloth was very dirty. Whoever is doing the cleaning does not do a very thorough job.

Heart of Palms, great place, great location
The Heart of Palms house is a great place to stay in Santa Rosa. We really liked the location, it was close to the pool and ocean. The kids liked that bikes were included and SUP boards were available to rent at the beach. There were a couple of items that could be improved such as the caulking in the master bath and non-stick skillets are needed in the kitchen. The back yard area would be much nicer if more of it were cleared and perhaps a patio and some outdoor chairs were added. Overall a great place to stay!

Truly Relaxing
Charming neighborhood with easy beach access! The home was perfect for our group of 10 adults! There was ample privacy for all, but also multiple gathering spots between the porches and the kitchen and living space. All amenities were thoughtfully provided, including board games, bikes, books—the only thing we “missed” was a boat! The daily beach setup was also a major bonus. We had easy access to restaurants and Publix without fighting the crowds. We’re already planning our next trip to Heart of Palms!

We love this gated community and have stayed in several homes over the years. This home has a great floor plan and grilling area. A hammock (eno) works great in the shady back yard. A short walk to the beach, ice cream, bike shop, or dinner.
