Very good

The property is in need of regurbishment - fittings in the bathroom are old and the tiling in the shower is in need of replacement. The placement of the large screen TV in the room was not safe - one could easily bang one head against it when moving around the room. The closet door would not stay shut because the floor sloped

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
in an area of town which isn’t the greatest neighborhood but there is some new construction going on.
Location is pretty bad, you can’t walk on the evening around there because it’s dangerous. When we arrived we had to pay $40 dollars for early check in even with the room available. No air conditioning in the room. The staff is friendly but only one spoke english and only another one spoke Portuguese.
Overall the property was decent with good size rooms and clean toilets etc. The swimming pool on the roof was small but clean. Breakfast was pretty decent as well. However, the location was average with the area around the hotel quite run down and felt a bit unsafe in evenings and night. Also when we landed up after an exhausting 18 hours flight from Sydney we were left hanging for about 4.5 hours without a room. Understand that our flight was early and we reached hotel at 10.30 which is way early. So we were happy to go around after leaving our heavy bags. But Expedia said the check in time was 2 but we didn't get a room till 3. Normally on request most hotels will give you at least 1 room (we had booking for 2) by 12.30 to 1. But we had to wait till 3. Very disappointing.
This hotel was very convenient. I also had a separate kitchenette and sitting area which was very nice. I even had a little balcony. Room was comfortable and clean and the front desk was helpful. Very reasonably priced. I would recommend this hotel or stay here again. I did not get to make use of the pool but it looked refreshing!
Nice hotel with great staff and a good location. We really enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel. We had a great view from the 14th floor off our balcony to see the sunset over the city. The staff were very helpful with getting everything we needed and allowing us to hang out in the lobby after check out while we waited for a late afternoon flight. Service was available in both Spanish and English. The only downside was that the walls were a bit thin and sound seemed to travel through from the hall into the room very easily. This hotel has a great location only a kilometer or two from the main tourist sites in Santiago.
It was a comfortable hotel and good breakfast and amneties. The wifi was very slow in the room. The neighbourhood was not very nice but inly 10 min walk to Plaza des Armas and 5 min walk to Santa Ana metro. The reception asked for an additional 50 usd for early checkin or late checkout.
THIEF ALERT! Backpack stolen DURING CHECK IN
I don't like to trash any businesses online. I'm just stating all the facts here. You travelers can be the judge yourselves. The 1 star I'm giving only goes to both the manager Aldolfo and the bell boy Alexandro. I'll explain below.
I checked into Hotel Capital San Pablo around 10:45 pm on a Thursday night. I took out my passport from my backpack for the receptionist and put the backpack on top of my suitcase, which was standing right next to me. I leaned forward over the reception desk to sign a few documents, as requested. In a matter of seconds, my backpack disappeared. The whole incident was caught on the lobby's surveillance camera. I lost all my cash, credit cards (which I cancelled immediately), house keys, electronic devices, sunglasses and my whole wallet. The thieves tried to use my CC within 5 minutes. Luckily I received alerts from all my CC companies. Thank God I had my passport and cellphone with me. Filed a police report but frankly the police wouldn't care less. I wasn't able to get a copy of police report for my travel insurance claim after 4 days (hotel told me it would take 24 hours only). I guess the thousands of losses I suffered are solely on me.
My understanding is that this kind of robbery has happened at this hotel before. It's beyond me that there's NO security guard onsite whatsoever!
One star to manager Aldolfo as he was being understanding and professional. He comp'ed all my meals,
The staff was courteous, and there was always someone available to speak English when my own Spanish encountered an unfortunate critical barrier. And the next-morning breakfast was very nice. One downside: to save power, the hotel maintains the ambient temperature a bit too low for my taste.
According to hotels.com check in is from 2 pm however when I got to the hotel they told me it is from 3 pm. Apart from that my stay was great. My room was clean, and wifi was excellent. It is not located in the best area of Santiago but La Moneda or Plaza de Armas are only a 15 minutes away walk. Anyway Uber or Cabify are cheap as chips in Chile so you can go anywhere you want to go from the hotel.
Service was not very friendly from the counter, however the guy who helped me with the luggage was very nice, be careful with the check in time because according to Hotels website is 2pm but the actual check in time is 3pm. Decent room and great location.
We like this hotel, location is good, very clean, staff are very friendly, one special person named Marcelos working in the lobby is so wonderful and made our stay at this hotel very very happy and comfotable。highly recommended!
Very helpful staff, quiet room, nice facilities. Has a restaurant but we didn't try it. A few blocks walk to a subway station (Santa Ana) and a bit further to Plaza des Armas. Hotel has a pool but we didn't have a chance to use it. With special price only $182 for 4 nights! Room had fridge and microwave.
