It's a cozy and kind of cramped hostel that's not in a beautiful location, but is very close to a metro station. The front desk was awesome. Before arriving, I Facebook messaged them about transportation from the airport. Their shuttle wasn't available, but they put in a good amount of effort to give me alternative cheap options, and even took into consideration the time constraints (we were arriving late). They were VERY helpful, and it was much appreciated. Upon arrival, they gave us suggestions for what to do in Sao Paulo (gave us a map and marked areas of interest for us) and even ordered pizza for us our first night (as we arrived very late and nothing else was open). The room was par for a hostel. Definitely did the job. My only complaint was the slightly moldy shower, but that's not uncommon in hostels. The breakfast was pretty good, although the breakfast area was quite cramped.
Surprise, surprise.
Overview not happy at all.!!
First of all we arrived at the hostel and they took us to our room which was stinking of cigaret. ( suppose to be forbidden to smoke in the room )
2 days later we had another surprise, the roof of the hostel was liking and our bag and clothes who was on this corner of the room got absolutely soaked. We then ask to have our washing done due to our misfortune. Once again they suppose to wash, dry and fold our clothes.
The next day they give us a pile of clothes which was absolutely not dry at all. We had to leave that day so no choice to pack our wet clothes.
Warning! I would not recommend that hostel at all.
We booked the room through hotels.com
On arrival the room we had booked was unavailable so we were offered an upgrade ?
This was now more expensive ?
How can we trust your site when the booking is not assured ?
The hosel was old & ahabby
Our room was plan but dirty & the bed was old & dirty
We definitely won't stay there again
The whole booking was a farce
We were quoted 63r but had to pay 84r
I doubt that we will use your site again

Green Grass was a good place to crash for a night with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Clean bathrooms and rooms, good breakfast. The location is very close to a metro station to get you into the city quickly, and the neighborhood feels quite safe.
Booked 2 nights. Was cheap but had bed bugs, no real common area, stank, toilet didn't work and was blocked but 10pm, nothing in the area bar the train station, not at all 'green'... I could go on. Left after the first night!
Green Grass is a smaller hostel and the amenities were good but not amazing: we stayed in an 8-person room, and there were about five shared bathrooms to be shared by all hostelers. There's some great art on the walls both in and out. It's very close to the Belem station on the red line which is quite convenient. However, Gabriel, the owner, was what really made our one-night stay incredible. Upon arriving, he was super friendly and welcoming and helped bring our bags up and get settled in. He also took us to the airport the next morning for a really good cost in the hostel's new VW van - riding in style! We had some minor trouble with the Brazilian airline we were flying and he took the time to call for us (as none of us spoke Portuguese) and got outraged when the airline rep hung up on him - twice - but promised to talk to the airline agent for us the next day at the airport. I really really recommend this hostel because of Gabriel's excellent service.

No Reservation
My girlfriend and I never got to stay. When we arrived, then had no idea about our reservation. The guy up front was very friendly though and called for us to stay at a nearby hotel/motel. Hotels.com has since called and straightened out their communication channel, from what they have said. The place was in a rough area, there was no parking, except for the street, but wasn't horrible for the price.

Boa localização e café ótimo!
Lugar simples tranquilo e serve um café excelente com frutas opções de bolos Paes e cereais bem completo que pelo valor da diária surpreende. Ideal para períodos curtos e muito próximo ao metrô Belém.
Boa localização, pertinho do metrô Belém. A rua é calma.
Pertinho do metrô Belém.
