Walked to Saumur along the river, which about 40 minutes into town. However, after 9pm no taxi options to take you back to the hotel. Great restaurant Au pot de lapin is closest and an excellent option. Le Grand Bleu in town is a great fish restaurant.

It’s a fabulous place and Monique was delightful. It was like staying with a French relative. The only omission is no evening meal, but a good bistro nearby was recommended

Great place to stay.
Lovely chateau with charming hosts. Bedroom was lovely although bathroom probably due to be replaced. I hope they refit with something more in keeping to the style. Lovely lounge with a comforting and relaxing open fire in the evenings. Nice breakfast too. We recommend this place to all.

The chateaux was a highlight of our trip. Cute, quaint and well appointed. The couple who owns the home is incredibly welcoming and provided a wonderful history of the chateaux as well as tips for travel in the area.

The setting, decoration, it being a chateau, and overall ambience was very good. Simple French breakfast served at a large table with all the other guests was a pleasant touch. Comfortable 4poster bed, fluffy towels and good shower. Could walk into Saumur (about 25 mins) but first part of walk was along side of busy road. Honesty bar for limited drinks and space to cool own bottles. I would return to this property.
