Before we go further, I would like to stress that this unit is a HISTORIC home. It was built in 1892, and was part of an estate for an original wealthy southern family. I have painstakingly restored it to make it a really great short term rental. What it is not, is a new construction hotel. Therefore, it has a few common Savannah quirks like a slightly slanted floor and doors that swell and shrink with the weather. If this bothers you, you will likely want to seek out a modern hotel, which is much more expensive, but nice in its own right. But, if you want to stay like a local, in a great location with a beautiful pool and a full kitchen for 1/2 the price of a hotel room, this is the place. Truly. Spread the local living love my friends.

This fantastic condo is in the perfect location in the Landmark Historic District of beautiful downtown Savannah, GA. The unit features a large bedroom, large living area, fully equipped kitchen and luxury bathroom with a 2 person Jacuzzi hot tub garden bath. Ohhh-la la. This historic cottage, originally constructed in the late 1800's, has been eloquently renovated and furnished with modern conveniences and a contemporary feel. Walking distance to grocery, bars, fine dining, and world famous Forsyth Park make this an unbeatable location. A ten to fifteen minute walk to the shopping district through the heart of the historic city provides a complete Savannah experience. Also, a short 20 minute drive to Tybee Island for a beach day. Did we mention there is a pool?

Savannah is a city rich in history. From the original squares laid out by General Oglethorpe to the anti-bellum homes spared by General Sherman during his fiery march to the sea, the character of Savannah as it was 150 years ago survives today providing a dramatic backdrop for tours and photo opportunities.

From horse drawn carriages clodding along cobble stone streets to renting mopeds for zipping around squares, there is no wrong way to see the city.

Shopping and art are abundant in downtown Savannah. Broughton Street boasts designers such as Marc Jacobs and the Jepson Art Museum draws international talent. There are also several prestigious galleries in the City Market area.

Visit the plethora of lunch restaurants and coffee houses during the day and enjoy the bar districts of city market and river street in the evening.

Or.......just get out of big city traffic for the week and relax by the pool.

The floors were very slanted. Being 71, it was very hard to walk across. Property was clean, easy to check in and the bed was quite comfortable. The location and unit were overall very nice. The bed was pretty worn down and could use either a new mattress or different supports to firm it up. The water temp was great and water pressure was good as well. It’s very close to a grocery store so easy to stock some snacks and meal items for your stay.

Convenient location
My husband and I spent our anniversary at this condo and it had all the amenities needed for a long weekend getaway. There is a Kroger a short walk down the street which was a plus and walkable to many points of interest. The owner was very accommodating when our flight was delayed for a later check out so we didn’t have to drag our luggage or sit at the airport. We would sentry again with some family and friends!

Perfect place to stay for our family of 3. Kitchen had all of the amenities, nice size fridge, etc. We enjoyed the pool on those hot summer days. Nice and quiet. Nice location of the grocery store only a couple of minutes to get there. Property owner was extremely helpful when we arrived. I didn't read the address correctly and was trying to get in the wrong. Oops. He answered his phone on the first ring and helped us. Overall a very pleasant experience. Would definitely stay again.

I honestly would still highly recommend this VRBO for a lot of people, just not for me. The most important part is cleanliness. I might have higher standards than most but the house was not very clean. If I was having guests over for an evening, my house would have been cleaner than this house. It appears as if the owner does the cleaning and does not hire a professional. (To the owner: if you do hire somebody, I would reconsider who you are using). LOCATION WAS GREAT!!!! I would personally choose a hotel next time because I felt the cleanliness actually made me apprehensive to other VRBOs. I’ve stayed in other rentals that have professional cleaners and have never had this problem but now I’m scared to take the plunge. The owner was EXCEPTIONALLY KIND! I know this review may not be received well, but I’m just being honest. First impressions are kind of a big deal and when you first pull up the outside of the house looks rough. When you get inside it gets a little better. I dropped the fan remote and had to get under the bed to grab it - there was a visible thick layer of dust that should not be there for a rental home. The bathtub was actually pretty dirty as well. I would not feel Comfortable bathing in there. The bed and couch were so squeaky, I toss and turn all the time no matter where I sleep but I kept my husband up because every movement made noise. For a rental I would hope for better quality overall. Here’s the highlights: affordability, location, friendly owner.

The property was close to Kroger w/Starbucks, & Forsythe park, & therefore all the tours. The kitchen was well stocked and had coffee. All appliances worked. There was a window a/c unit in the bedroom that worked. Good water pressure and hot water. TV worked & had Roku. Owner was very responsive. However, the outside of the unit was dirty and in disrepair. The bathroom had mold & mildew on the window curtain and jets in the tub along with duct tape. The bathroom counter and sink were incredibly tall and difficult to use. The toilet tank had a misshapen tank cover. There is at least a 6" slant to the floor from the front door to the rear of the property. Be aware if you have balance issues. The mattress was comfortable. The pillows were not and were well used. Overall, an acceptable stay.

A great home base for exploring Savannah
Check in was easy, the owner and his family who were staying in a nearby adjacent property were very helpful and pleasant to chat with but also gave us plenty of privacy. I loved the pool and back porch for an extra sitting area, and the nearby grocery store was so convenient. The house had everything we could need. We opted to not rent a car and that worked out great--the property is just a few blocks from a free bus line that goes to the historic district/riverfront and back. We took a day trip to Tybee Island for a dolphin cruise, visit to the beach, and a seafood lunch. We'll be back and would stay here again.

We love the place it’s close to everything . The front porch was being redone but there was a back entrance wich we recommend you use even if the porch was done . The tv we could never get to work . The host did come and try to get it working but with no luck . We was not in town to watch tv anyway . But we love the place and would definitely go back .

We were gone every day so we did not utilize the cooking process or outdoor/pool. This was our first time in Savannah (my second since 1977) so basically our first time to Savannah. We did tourist things and then we went to Tybee Island to stay on the beach. It was a wonderful vacation. Savannah is a beautiful city and highly recommend a good 3-4 days of restaurants and tourist attractions. The apartment was adorable! I loved the washing machine and dryer stackable and utilized them every day - they are literally brand new! I won’t go home with a bunch of dirty clothes now! Thank you so much for an accommodating place! We appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into everything.

Nice location near Forsyth Park and walking distance to Krogers. Lyft and Uber can easily take you all around town when tired of walking in the hot Savannah sun. House is good for a couple. The pool option is nice alternative during hot afternoons. Friendly and accessible owner in David. I would recommend the place for a visit to Savannah.

What a lovely little gem!
My husband and I brought our 8 and 13 year old to see the St Patrick’s Day parade for the first time, and the location was absolutely perfect. It was a quick 10 minute walk to the start, and parking behind the property allowed for a swift exit afterwards. Tip for families: The pull out couch was just big enough for our kids to share, but we brought a twin inflatable mattress as back up for those “y’all need to be separated” moments. The eat in kitchen sits two, so we ate all our meals on the back porch which opened to the shared back area w/ pool. This is a great property that gets booked up, so the owners are crazy busy keeping it in tip-too condition. Be kind and patient with them; they’ll take good care of you. 😉

Charming little place
My husband and I stayed here for a long anniversary weekend in Savannah. We enjoyed staying here . It was clean , very close to everything, and fully stocked . Parking right out side the house was great since sweeping days are only on Thursday’s . Only thing I would suggest would be for the mattress to be replaced it was terribly firm. We ended sleeping on top of the the bedding to give it some more cushion . Highly suggest a ghost tour, eating at Screaming Mimi’s for pizza , and eating at Ruth Chris if you like steak.
