The property was amazing and the dorm rooms offered some privacy too! The area around the hostel is great and offers a lot of dining options. The hostel offered a lot of activities and they were great!! Especially lorena did a great job during my stay and was so much fun! I loved her activities and she entertained us a lot! It was a great time
Had an amazing time at Casa Pepe. The place was great, it was a big property which had many areas where u can sit and enjoy. Also has an office area so you can work. Staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely return.
This property is amazing!! I had a king room that was huge and super clean! The property is spotless and the staff is lovely! I didn’t eat on the property so I can’t comment on that. The location is about 3 minutes from the beach and super central. The streets surrounding the property are cobble stone so if you have mobility issues this may not be a good location for you. Overall, it was an amazing stay and I’ll be back.
All in all I had a great stay here in a private room and would certainly come back again! I made a ton of wonderful friends and power hour is a perfect reason to mingle with new people each night.
The location is perfect and an easy walk to the beach. It isn't too loud at night around this area unless your room faces the road, which mine did, but event still it wasn't too bad. The rooftop facilities are a great place to relax. Generally, all of the staff were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
Cons: I booked this room with the assumption that a small fridge would be provided in the room, as shown in the pictures and in the Expedia AD but there wasn't one available. My room was also never cleaned even though I made a note for this service on one of my days. Hot water is also hard to come by for showers but isn't a deal breaker. Rooms are a little tired from use but still in good condition for the price.
* There isn't much a communal kitchen here, so be warned if you plan to store and make food here. Not an issue for myself but i know other guests had issues with this.
* Wouldn't be a bad idea to have water stations more available as well and ensure the bottles are refilled for guests since the local water is not ideal for drinking.
I am in my mid 40s and was a bit hesitant about staying at a hostel! As a solo female traveller I feel safe at all times, private in the little sleeping nook, and loved spending time on the rooftop patio :)
Casa Pepe had everything I needed as a home base to explore Sayulita and surrounding area.
Sidenote, there is quite a bit of party action, although it shuts down at the hostel by 11, the town itself continues long into the night! So bring earplugs :)
Great location, great staff... unfortunately the property itself didn't really meet expectations. The TV in our room didn't work (okay, small thing), but then neither did the hot water! We could get 20 - 30 seconds of a hot shower if we were lucky, and that's kind of a big one. On the second morning of our stay the included breakfast included moldy bread, and after that we skipped breakfasts at Casa Pepe. Next time in Sayulita we'll try somewhere else.
Made many friends! Always felt welcome and was close to all the places I wanted to go!

Disliked: Staff & service
We thought this was in puerto Bayarta when we first booked it because that’s what it advertised but it turns out it was actually an hour away. That area is very safe a lot of things to do there, everyone in the area is nice and helpful when looking for good spots to eat every thing is within walking distance
The staff at Casa Pepe were wonderful and the beds were very comfortable despite my cranky back. I slept well and enjoyed getting to know fellow solo travelers.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Beautiful room and pool space. Decorated very nicely and great price for what you get. Staff were all lovely and welcoming. Favourite part was the pool. Only feedback is that the safe did not work, the patio doors did not lock, and the air conditioner was always leaking (it got all over our clothes). However, the hotel felt super safe. Also please note that there is construction across the street which made it very loud! They also play music from 3pm to 11pm. We didn't mind it and Sayulita is generally a pretty loud/busy place! Overall rating would be 7/10.
Casa Pepe is a nice property in a great location. The bar staff at the pool were amazing and the younger aged guests made it a really fun time. Our room did have a leak in the air conditioner or ceiling as our bag and clothes ended up getting soaked when we woke up in the morning. Our stay also included a complementary breakfast however when we were done breakfast the staff gave us a bill. When we reminded them about the free breakfast they told us only one item on the menu was free. This was never explained to us when we sat down when we told the server that our breakfast was included. The staff was rude to us and told us we needed to pay. Then upon checking out they accused us of stealing the air conditioning remote. It was disappointing to leave on such a bad note. We felt like they were trying to get every last peso they could from us on our way out the door. They also ignored the fact that our clothes and bag were soaked from their leaking ceiling when we told them about it.
This was my first solo vacation. From the moment I stepped in to the lobby, I was welcomed by the staff in particular Maddie! She invited me to all of the activities but didn’t pressure me. She was incredibly kind and checked on me every time we crossed paths.
I stayed in a private room, was super clean and felt safe. I will definitely be back!
