The lodge is a Tingdene, which is 40 feet long and 20 feet wide. It has 3 bedrooms. Two are doubles with TVs (one of which is an en-suite, with shower). The third bedroom is a twin. There is a bathroom with bath and overhead shower. The living (sofa with 2 recliners, TV and fire), dining and kitchen (oven hob and extractor, fridge/freezer, dish washer and microwave) area is all open plan. From the living area there is a set of double doors opening out to the back and a private decked area, with views towards the North York Moors. There is also a hot tub and outdoor furniture in the decked area. There is space outside to park 2 cars. WiFi available.

The property is located within a private gated development, bordering the North Yorkshire Moors, and situated on the edge of the pretty village of Burniston. There is a village shop, and several local country pubs nearby.

It is a 10 minute drive from the popular seaside town of Scarborough, with its many attractions, including the beach, Marine Drive, Sealife Centre, Water Park, Scarborough Spa, Open air theatre. Throughout the year there are many events to appeal to young and old alike.

The historic town and harbour of Whitby is approximately 25 minutes drive away, and the quaint harbour of Staithes is a short drive beyond.

Other seaside resorts nearby include Filey and Bridlington.

There are many good beaches nearby, other than Scarborough, including Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Skinningrove and Saltburn.

The area is a walkers paradise, with many good walks with exceptional views and breath taking scenery along the coast, and also inland in the North York Moors. These include the Cleveland Way, which follows both an inland and coastal route.

Local events include artists and bands at Scarborough Spa and the Open Air Theatre. The popular cycling event the Tour de Yorkshire regularly visits the area at the start of May.

Local wildlife is abundant, with deers regularly spotted from the property, and guaranteed seal spotting at Ravenscar.

Great little hideaway lodge

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was clean, the hot tub was great and there was loads of space for 4 adults and 2 kids. Well equipped and in a quiet location not far from Scarborough. Only (very) slight niggle that’s hardly worth mentioning is the WiFi was patchy at best. Overall though fantastic and would stay here again

Quiet and peaceful

The place itself is very quiet, just birdsong to listen to. Well equipped and plenty of room. Linen and towels provided. Could do with a general spruce up such as jet washing the deck and painting the bedrooms and floors replacing in the bathrooms. Was pleased to see general items for use such as tea coffee dishwasher tablets etc.

This was far from the luxury we were expecting the overall look seemed ok but on closer inspection it was wornout, dusty cobwebs in all the rooms dirty marks on walls ,carpet in the hall a trip hazzard,the bathrooms looked clean but when we turned the shower on the smell from the drains was overpowering, rusty shelving that needs removing, one of the double matresses would benifit from replacing the kitchen again seemed ok but we found a pan that had been put back in the cupboard dirty ,coffee cups that had old coffee marks in them the list goes on the toaster was full of crumbs from previous visitors ,we didnt use the kitchen to cook or use the hot tub , furniture on the decking not at shown in picture,we were very disappointed but on a plus side the bedding and towels were very well laundered and fresh the pictures we saw and why we booked are misleading and obviously were taken when the lodge was new ,and dont show the view from the bedroom which wasnt what we expected,!!! Gas storage !! we stayed for 2 nights

The lodge needs a good clean inside and out and needs decoration overall the place is looking very tired There is no incentive to go in the hot tub as the out side is so dirty and needs a good clean Inside the toaster and dishwasher were dirty and the bathrooms weren’t very clean we won’t be staying again

This was the 2nd time myself & my friends have stayed in this cabin, both times we have had a really good stay. Communicating with the host is really easy shes really helpful. The price of the cabin itself is spot on, all in all id recommend the cabin to anyone looking & we look forward to enjoying our stay another time.
