With three generations in tow, the house was perfectly situated to all the amenities of Schroon Lake (as well as Lake George, Paradox, etc) as well as being a cozy haven to come back to at the end of the day. One rainy day, we stayed inside most of the day reading, playing games, ping pong matches in the basement, watching movies, and cooking! The surrounding grounds were beautiful to look out at, but we also enjoyed the hiking from the property, using the firepit, picnic tables, and grill and having coffee on the porch rocking chairs. The house was extremely clean, organized, and well laid out for busy little kids to older adults. The bedrooms were cozy and spacious, dining areas large and inviting, and the living room was beyond comfortable and welcoming.
We loved the warm blankets on the couch for cool nights and the ceiling fans for warmer days. There were lots of extras like soap, shampoo, TP, sheets/towels, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and an informative house guide. And of course, the "log cabin in the woods" posting certainly lived up to the description. Rustic and traditional, yet with all the amenities of a modern home. Nicole, our host, was always available for a question or advice via text. We truly felt we "got away" and couldn't have found a better home for our needs and comfort.
