S'chwabels, a gîte in the spirit of Alsatian traditions

Welcome to an Alsatian farmhouse built at the beginning of the 19th century and representative of the traditional agricultural areas of the country of Hanau. The very spacious gite is located in an outbuilding, formerly the stable of the old farm.

Its location on a closed shared courtyard and in a busy street makes it a haven of tranquility. We have kept as much as possible the distribution of buildings, uses and functions (bread oven) as well as the original materials: half-timbered, mud, Vosges sandstone, flat beaver-tail tiles. The half-timbering was also scrupulously respected.

S’chwabels is an integral part of the old village nucleus where we find the services of everyday life.

Lovely property in a great position
Me and my partner chose to stay here with our dog as we had not visited Alsace before. The property is in a great position in a lovely quiet village with easy road and rail access to Strasbourg. Bruno the owner was very welcoming and the property is clean and full of lots of interesting historical pieces of art and furniture. There is plenty of space with three bedrooms and the kitchen is well fitted out with all modern appliances. I would highly recommend this property.

Es ist ein ganz liebevoll eingerichtetes typisch elsässisches Fachwerkhaus mit goßem Innenhof. Man entdeckt täglich etwas Neuse. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet was man für einen Urlaub braucht. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Sie geben gerne Tipps für Ausflüge in der Umgebung, für die Schwindratzheim ein guter Ausgangspunkt ist. Wir und unsere Kinder würden gern wieder kommen. Das Hühner füttern hat ihnen sehr gefallen. Ein Vorteil ist das man sich hin und wieder mal im Innenhof trifft und nette Gespräche führen kann. Vielen lieben Dank an die Gastgeber MERCI BIEN

Ein Kleinod mit Charme
Das Fachwerkhaus ist zauberhaft schön und sehr gut ausgestattet. Gerade mit Kindern ist es toll, einen Innenhof zu haben und eine große Wiese mit Ziegen, Schafen und Hühnern. Das Dorf hat uns auch sehr gefallen. Es gibt gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, die Bahnanbindung ist perfekt und der Ortskern ist sehr hübsch mit seinen alten Höfen.

Un très bon séjour
Nous avons passé 5 jours très agréables en famille : la maison a beaucoup de charme et est très confortable; la cour est bien aménagée et par beau temps, il est fort sympathique d‘y déjeuner . Notre chatte a bien apprécié la balustrade de la galerie de laquelle elle pouvait gagner le toit et le grenier! La maison est bien située pour explorer toute l‘Alsace et faire des incursions en Allemagne.

Positive: Overall nice location to relax for a few days. Courtyard perfectly for my 5 month old Beagle boy. Negative: Sleeping small village with poor infrastructure and family members crossing the courtyard, so rarely having privacy, what was not mentioned in the online description.

Urlaub im Schmuckstückchen
Das Haus ist ein wahres Schmuckstück. Ursprüngliches Elsass, wie man es sich vorstellt. Sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Gastgeber. Eine Oase zum Entspannen. Die Nähe zu kleinen Ortschaften und Straßburg laden zu Ausflügen ein. Wir haben die Tage rundum genossen. Sehr empfehlenswert!

In einem 1806 gebauten Haus mit stark elsässisch geprägten Elementen fanden wir eine sehr gemütliche und gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung vor mit sehr netten Gastgebern vor. 3 Schlafzimmer, 2 Bäder entstressten weiter.

Séjour très agréable
Nous sommes venus en vacances pour visiter en famille, 4 avec une petite de moins de 2 ans. Un lieux vraiment au top pour des parents avec un bébé ou enfant en bas âge. Adapté non seulement en sécurité mais avec tous ce qu'il faut : chaise haute, lit(s) bébé, matelas à langer, baignoire. Ce lieux est magique. Tout le charme de l'Alsace, cozy et très tranquille. La literie est sublime et un vrai confort. Même les journées pluvieuse nous avons pleins de livres/jeux à disposition. Vraiment au top ! Merci encore pour votre accueil.

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine en famille avec notre chien dans les Vosges. Nos journées étaient faites de balades natures avec une exception obligatoire :la journée à Strasbourg. La location était typique, vaste, chaleureuse, bien équipée avec une literie au top! Les propriétaires sont très bienveillants. Merci à eux pour les précieux conseils!
