Only the resturaunt was a disappointment. The food was fair at best. You'd think having an excellent dining service would attract lots of others. If I stayed again, I would not eat in the dining room.

The Lodge is absolutely beautiful! My room faced the ocean which made each day’s sunset an exhilarating experience. The room felt completely unique in its smart eco-conscious design and beautiful wood floors and walls. Frequent travelers may be surprised by a room free of TV but the ocean vibes instantly become a wonderfully soothing substitute.
I especially want to mention the truly wonderful staff from Marcel and Celia at the front desk to all the great people in the cafe and restaurant. They were very very busy over Thanksgiving yet each of them were unfailingly polite and efficient. The young gentleman (very tall) in the cafe was a real standout in his hospitality and efficiency. Someone is a doing a great managing this staff.
The coffees were perfectly made with an excellent choice of pastries and smoothies in the cafe. We had a terrific lunch as well.
I will enthusiastically return very soon.
This is a remote place that I planned to go to, in order to escape the city. On Saturday the guests were mostly parents with young children. The Lodge Center was like a pediatric clinic at all times of day and evening. I was seated at dinner there, paying at $40- 60 price point menu, in a darker hall way next to an area where 2- 3 infants were crawling around, one at the table next to ours unattended. The Sunday night stay was much better, no kids and less dogs.
One of the best hotels/lodges I’ve ever stayed in. The staff is friendly, location is perfect, and the hotel’ itself is well designed. It’s an architecture and nature lover’s dream.
10/10! Amazing stay, perfect stop on our road trip. The dinner reservations book up quick so do book in advance if you want to eat in dining room. We ate at bar and it was great. Room was super cool, and view framed the landscape perfectly. Property is so thoughtful and like one big piece of art. Would def stay here again.
Lovey place but check-in was almost impossible. The check-in area/main building/dining area shut down—no on one around at 7:15pm. Walked all over place trying to find someway to check in and no ancillary people around. By luck a service guy was just leaving around 7:30 helped us wait until someone eventually unlocked door to check us in. As we all were waiting at that door, got a text at 7:33pm about how to check in “late.” Prior to that had not gotten any notice to warn us there would be an issue. Someone shortly after came to unlock door and we got checked in. Think they are still working on rebuilding this place up, at this time not a full service place—but still beautiful.
Beautiful property! You have access to the trails right next to the ocean and it was the prettiest walk I’ve ever been on. The rooms are well designed with convenience in mind - remote control lighting, outlets, B&O portable speaker, etc etc. The staff are also super friendly and helpful. Will return to this property anytime :)
Had a poor experience at the property. After check-in, i made a dinner reservation in person at the conceige/check-in place, and a staff member confirmed my dinner time and reservation. However when I arrived at the restaurant later that day, they told me there was a mistake and I could not eat at the table, they could only let me eat at the bar with a (very limited) bar menu. On the second day I complained to a different staff member at check-in place, and she told me the person yesterday just went ahead made my reservation and forgot to check there was an event yesterday. Then I went to the coffee shop at the hotel and ordered a hazelnut latte, they made me a caramel latte. Seems like people working here just decide to do whatever they want for the job and keep on making mistakes, which is odd for a hotel of this price tag. The room is clean, trail next to the hotel is great, tho.
Stunning high end lodge with modern design and timeless natural surrounds.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
Beautiful property with potential w/some more hospitality, customer service,& amenities for the price. Front desk is a closet / no lobby. The Rooms are beautiful but all the textiles seem like they came from ikea. (which is not bad but not luxury). The overhead lamp we could not turn it off/on so had to unplug it from the wall. Upon inquiry that was the only way bc it didn’t have a switch. Robes are not plush. stairs to the loft are dangerously steep but unique. In room coffee, bottle of Rose & tea are the only thing you will get complementary. My teapot had water in it ( therefore was not clean). At night it’s super dark but no nightlight. Unwrapped cotton balls and quips in bathroom. Restaurant food was amazing but getting a res was difficult. I got a call a week before asking if I’d like res for dinner; I called back and left messages 2x w/out any response. Our first night they could not get us in to eat so we ate in the bar & the next night 5pm or 515 were the only openings. (mind you there are no restaurants close by).So we ate early for us and it wasn't busy at all. We asked for the firepit to be turned on to finish our wine there - girl in the office didn’t know how to light it. 45min later she got it turned on (wine was done by then). No water refill stations. Very small store was closed for inventory. We left a day early & went to Napa and stayed at an amazing place where the customer service and hospitality put them to shame for the same price.
There's a reason Sea Ranch is famous: it's gorgeous. As to the lodge: every room has a big window that looks out onto the Pacific Ocean which is about 200 meters west of the Lodge. There are no TVs or telephones in the rooms! There is a lovely little restaurant and bar with huge picture windows. Honestly, it reminded me of the White Lotus: an impossibly lovely place that only rich people go to. I decided to be rich for one night and it was worth it.
