Its a place to spend the night in a good location
Overall, the house was clean, but it and its furnishings are old and worn. Don't expect to get the "Wow! This is great!" feeling.

STAY AWAY
NASTY! To start, we missed the house because the exterior did not match the pictures. When we walked up the stairs and were greeted by a rusty razor blade on the handrail. We then went to enter the code that was sent, and it was not correct! We had to go back to town (remember, there’s no service) and had to call the VRBO hotline to finally get a code that worked. The pictures did not match at all!. There was a layer of dust caking the top of furniture, and I walked into a spiderweb that had been in the doors (this does not include the multitude of other cobwebs throughout the house). We killed many spiders, one of which was in our sheets! The couches have covers with many stains and various hairs on them. The utensils, pots and pans are all gross. The fridge drawers are held together with tape, there’s one measly ice cube tray with specs of dirt in it. There was also a table cloth on the kitchen table that had stains on it. When we peeled it back, it revealed a table with stains all over it. One of the chairs had what appeared to be a melted jolly rancher on it that wouldn’t come up. I wish I had brought shower shoes due to how gross the downstairs shower made me feel. The whole house got super hot due to the lack of AC. They provide portable fans, but the the blades in them are broken and rattled all night. When checking out, we removed our sheets to make it easier to wash. We saw stains on pillows, decades old mattresses, and another spider! Will never stay again!

Disappointing
I am confused by the online comments. The location was great and the wifi was strong but this was not at all as described. Although it had been cleaned; grime from years of use, brown slipcovers, oversupply of mismatched furniture in every room and vegetation overgrowth made this house dark and dingy.

Seal harbor stay
The rental was in a quiet location away from the crowds in bar harbor. Pretty basic furnishings. Living room was comfortable. Kitchen was fine except no corkscrew and no paper towels? Mattresses could use updating. Wi-fi was good. Overall, good place to spread out.

Just terrible!
Where to even start?? The pictures you see are completely misleading. The furniture is old and beat up and the decor is just weird. Notice how they don’t even show the second shower? That’s because it’s disgusting. Mold growing in the baseboards and walls around it and gross old peeling fish decals on the floor. My family all refused to use it. The carpet is stained, all the floors really need to be replaced. The house is very dark as well. The beds are hard, you can actually feel the springs and the pillows are flat. One of the worst parts was the smell of the whole house. It needs a lot of updating. The landscaping needs help too although this part didn’t necessarily affect our stay. The only pros are that it has a nice, newer gas grill, fast Wi-Fi, and a decent sized TV that has a good picture. It is also very close to Jordan Pond and the South Cadillac trail, but a good 15-20 minute drive to bar harbor. We were very disappointed about how much we paid and how mislead we were. I would advise that you keep looking! Please note that I rarely, if ever, leave negative reviews so that should tell you something!

Great location!
Overall a great experience. Be aware it does not have AC which is on the review. Very clean place. It is a little hard to get a hold of the property manager, due to no cell service in the area.

Just a basic cabin
The pictures have nothing to do with the reality of the place. The place is very dark almost no sunlight comes in. Also there is no real outside space to spend time. The dinning room is almost blind and there is a toilet that is right in the axis of the dinning room. Carpet is stained and unappealing all over the house. The house is crooked too which is rather comical, good head blood flow when sleeping in some rooms. The equipment is very basic.

Location was truly perfect
We were 15 minutes from Bar Harbor, 5 minutes from Jordan Pond, a 5 minute walk from Seal Harbor...just a perfect location. The house also has amazing internet speed...my 3 teenage boys put it to the test and were extremely with it on the rainy days. My only suggestion would be an update to the kitchen items...more silverware, a cheese grater, new spatulas, etc.

Convenient
The large porch is a great place to relax after a busy day of activities. The location and 4 bedrooms are perfect for our activities and group of eight. Being as close to Wildwood Stables is a priority. Pleasantly, far enough away from over crowded Bar Harbor so you're not dealing with parking and too many people, but close enough to run to the grocery store, pharmacy, etc. We would stay here again.

Peaceful getaway and great base camp for Acadia
This was a perfect location to escape the Bar Harbor crowds and relax on the porch after a day of hiking and biking. Close enough to access amenities as well as trail heads and carriage roads. The house was spacious for 2 families with kids and the well appointed kitchen allowed us to cook as desired. We hope to return!

We really enjoyed staying here. Got up early a couple of days for sunrise over the bubbles which was very close. Also had a lobster boil and steaks on the grill. The place has everything you need!
