I will start by saying that the customer service was fantastic. Everyone I ran into that worked.There was very very kind. We planned an impromptu trip and booked our hotel the day before we arrived. It was during peak season and this was the only place available that could accommodate our family of six. They do a good job cleaning. However, the carpets are old and it has not been repainted in decades, so after about eighteen hours, the clean smell went away and stale cigarettes was all we could smell. The beds were not comfortable but that is what is to be expected for a budget place? If you're just looking for a place to crash and don't mind old cigarette smell, they will take really good care of you. I likely won't be returning.

They went above and beyond to help with any needs. Also they started the barbecue for us ! Clean towels when we needed them . They also have towels beach toys and s’mores sticks you can borrow all of these items :) such wonderful friendly place . Easy walk to the beach and down town

We had a plumbing problem in our room the first day, but the owner/manager Ruth was so accommodating, understanding and happy to help us out. She upgraded us to a different room without hesitation. First time here and would definitely return.

The entire place could use some upkeep for as much as they charge. We couldn’t watch tv at all. The multiple remotes were very confusing. It was, however, centrally located and within walking distance to restaurants.

The staff were awesome. Very helpful and nice! The property is an older property but very close to most things to do in town and the beach. There are no elevators so if you can’t go upstairs, you might ask for a first floor room. Clean, good location, and great staff.

Very friendly and helpful property manager. Property very dated, I guess quaint to some. Everything there works. Limited tv (missing cable box in our companions room), lots of dvds to borrow, no instructions on working the three remotes. Noisiest dead end street ever. Too bad we had to keep the window open to stay cool. No air conditioning. Does cool mean turn off heat? It doesn't cool that's for sure. I'm getting too old to climb stairs to my room. Close to everything. Would have loved staying there for half the price.

Hillcrest is a great stay
Hillcrest was excellent. Amazing staff, clean room, super close to both the beach and downtown. They have discounts for local businesses if you mention you are staying with Hillcrest. They offer snacks in the morning, and they have some board games and a ton of movies available in DVD. They also have smart TVs, but service was being upgraded at the time. The housekeeping has a great flair, and it was a pet friendly hotel with a small additional surcharge. This is a place you'll want to stay if you want a high quality inn without breaking the bank.
