Yes, it's in a rural area, but they shuttle you to different sites and the bus stop, wherever you need to go. They do not pick you up, just take a taxi or use Google to find a bus. It was so nice of them to drive us to Sunrise Peak at 5:20am! Staying here will put you in a good spot to visit Udo Island, Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak), and if you are looking for a swimming beach, I highly recommend taking a bus North to Hado Beach. It is a quiet clean beach with clear water. At low tide, a shallow area gets warmed by the sun, perfect for laying in about 12" of water. There are tons of hermit crabs. When you get off the bus to go to Hado Beach, walk following the gps, you will pass handmade signs for a cafe in the rustic village called Pura Vida. Go there! It is a coffee shop with an excellent fresh roasted hand drip coffee, as well as full meals and a surprising selection of German beers. We got a Pad Thai and Paulaner. This was really an unexpected and welcome surprise! Another tip- if you go to Udo, go as early as possible and check the time for the last ferry back. For September, it was 4:30pm! Why so early?
