Domain classified 4 stars, with heated swimming pool (enclosed building and retractable roof), jacuzzi, sauna for 30 people, there are 9 rooms at basic prices and 6 additional rooms (with supplement) for a total of 15 rooms.
In total there are 36 beds in bedrooms plus 4 beds on sofa beds.
From June 2023 a dormitory for 15 additional people will be offered with a maximum capacity of 45 people.
A true former Tourangelle residence, your next vacation spot is ideally located in the heart of the Loire castles, between Loches and Chinon, 25 km from Chenonceaux, Azay-le-Rideau and Richelieu, 45 minutes from the Beauval zoo. Other chateaux of the Loire, as well as the Futuroscope, are less than an hour's drive away or a 2-hour getaway to Puy du Fou and very close to the Loire Valley.
Perfectly restored, the Domaine de la Retardière with its 280m2 Manor and its 490m2 Barn offers an exceptional environment for 30 people. They are equipped with all modern comforts, offering 15 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. The area has fully equipped kitchens, several living rooms between 60m2 and 100m2, a spa with jacuzzi for 6 people and a sauna for 3 people in a relaxation room of 100m2 with 4.5m high ceilings. Two large terraces, one of which is 70m2, well furnished and welcoming, with barbecue and gas griddle. A large 11m x 5m swimming pool with a 220m2 pool house and terrace with 16 sun loungers, bordered by a large expanse of lawn with professional trampoline and pétanque court, guarantee an excellent holiday atmosphere. The cleaning is done and the exchange of all household linen, kitchen and bath towels is carried out upon arrival of the stay. These services are included in the rental price.
Heating is included in the rental price between November and March, outside this period, if heating is necessary it will be charged in addition at the price of 60euro per day.
A deposit check of 3000 euros will be requested upon arrival.

Amazing property!
The most amazing property with superb views, oodles to do for entertainment. The pool and spa facilities are amazing and all the sports equipment were well used by our family group. There was 38 of us, across three generations and we would visit again in a heart beat!

Perfect for our wedding
This is an amazingly beautiful period property with lots of original features, we chose this property because it was so beautiful, we held our wedding ceremony there and everything was perfect, the property was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed, we were a party of 45 people and it did not feel crowded. The pool was a welcome addition to the property also.You would need a car if staying her as not accessible by public transport, but we knew that before booking.

Comfortable house with lots to entertain all ages.
We were a group of 22 adults 1 child.We had a fabulous time,so much space in the grange and Manoir,loads of things to do,in & around the house,the swimming pool with the retractable roof was an absolute triumph and kept all very happy.we were able to visit many of the lovely places within easy distance of the house.There is a railway station nearby which made travelling into Tours very easy,it also enabled us to pick up members of the party who arrived by train very easily.Futuroscope was within easy travelling time and some of the youngsters travelled there by car.David & Angelina( the owners) were very easy to contact,and always replied promptly to any queries we had.We would all recommend La Retardiere to anyone looking for a big,comfortable fun filled holiday destination.

Very good for a large family holiday we had small grandchildren and they loved the pool. Lots of space for everyone would recommend and would definitely go again. Angelina and David could not have been more helpful

Villa holiday Floor sticky , dirty , birds mess , tree residue ??? When cleaned last , no wardrobe in bedrooms to store clothes Swing outside dangerous Pool filthy green around top . Tables used before us and not wiped Broken windows in main hse bedroom with bath Broken window in main house very dangerous for everyone Broken window hot tub room opposite side of building Pool house glazing filthy Sofa broken in pool table building, ends fall off Windows don’t open in top main bedroom ? Blinds or windows faulty. Road edge needs a small wire fence along , as we were continuialy stopping our children wandering due to unsafe road edge. Upstairs bath toilet , disgusting needs a soak of bleach . Infestation of ants on tables n floor outside also main house kitchen work surfaces To many cushions missing from outside sofa Plug unsafe n hanging off in kitchen n upstairs main top bedroom Pool dirty on arrival and very dirty now Ants in main house kitchen Shower tray takes 6/7 hrs to drain Pool floor decking broken n sharp Umbrella by pool snapped and removed at our request by guardians as dangerous and pointy, no umbrella replacement given , now so hot over the pool area with no protection from sun for children Induction job only works on one area , several other pans tried from other building, still didn’t work Washing machine has decided to stop working halfway through cycles . 18 people need clothes cleaned at some point Son fixed the problem as impeller had become jammed The door frames in the barn building come apart , and my family have to put them back . There are spindles missing in the bannisters in barn , totally unsafe for children. Pool glass doors filthy Pool filled with water after 4 days , never cleaned or filled after , dirty water at bottom of pool throughout

An excellent return to France after missing out due to Covid The family is growing and we need a larger holiday home each year. La Retardiere accommodated 17 of us very easily. The location is rural but there are many attractions within short drives. Nothing to complain about The enclosed pool was the firm favourite We hope to return soon

We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful house. Perfect for two families to share.
The property was exactly as described. The concierge could not be more helpful, though speaking some French is an advantage in communicating with him. There was plenty of room for two families without getting on top of each other, and the pool was wonderful in the heat. The only thing that would have made things a little easier would be the provision for doing laundry. Our children are all mid teens to early twenties, but if staying with small children a washing machine would have been useful. All the bedrooms were very comfortable, and having so many bathrooms was great. The children enjoyed the table football and table tennis as well as the pool. Having large enough tables for all to sit round to eat was lovely, and led to some lovely evenings all together.

We loved the house and it fitted 12 of us very comfortably. A lovely spacious open plan ground floor and all enjoyed the table football and swimming pool. Although the road runs along the bottom of the property as the lawn is huge and it is not a busy road this was not a problem - we are used to living in the middle of nowhere, so it really would not trouble anyone. The caretakers living next door were charming and very helpful whenever we had any queries. We had wonderful barbeques on the stunning terrace in the evenings and enjoyed exploring the castle at nearby Loche. Would thoroughly recommend the property.

Traditional Touraine house
This property is extremely large on 3 floors. It is very rustic in appearance and has a certain charm. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We travelled with 4 grandchildren all under 4. The outdoor space was perfect for running around and playing games. The pool is fenced with a locked gate, although it is not heated but it is perfectly positioned for catching the summer sun. The house is situated off the D760 which can be busy but the garden is so big that this is not an issue. It is close to St Maure de Touraine with a weekly market on Friday and supermarkets. Places to visit are Lcohes - wednesday market, Tours, Chinon, Beauval zoo, la Haute Touche at Azay-le-Ferron, Amboise and more. All of which are within 60 minutes travelling time.

Très grande maison (manoir + grange + dortoir) avec le charme de l'ancien et le confort du moderne. Un lieu exceptionnel et très bien équipé (4 cuisines, plusieurs barbecues etc.). Le jardin est très grand, une piscine couverte avec spa et sauna. Balancoire, chaises hautes et lits bébés pour les plus petits. Un lieu idéal pour nous pour un week-end entre amis. Les propriétaires sont très serviables et l'accueil était parfait. Je recommande cette destination.

Super lieu pour recevoir et passer du temps en famille ou avec des amis. Nous étions 27 et jamais nous nous sommes sentis à l'etroit. Les proprietaires sont très agréables. Nous avons eu la malchance d'avoir réservé un weekend alors qu'il pleuvait, mais grâce à tous les equipements sur place, nous avons pu profiter du debut à la fin sans jamais s'ennuyer ! Merci pour ce magnifique séjour.

Domaine agréable pour un séjour entre ami. Le fait que chaque couple ait sa chambre est un vrai plus. La grande salle de la grange est très bien également. L'offre d'activités proposées sur place est un vrai plus. Les points à améliorer sont la description de l'annonce qui ne corresponds pas pour certains points à la réalité, comme la description des couchages, ou encore les photos aériennes qui ne sont plus à jour. La communication par les propriétaires peut également être améliorée afin d'éviter tout malentendu comme ce que nous avons vécu à notre arrivée sur le nombre de couchage.
