MIELLIN is a small hamlet of 77 inhabitants nestled at the foot of the Servance balloon (1216m), offering its visitors calm and contemplation. At the heart of the plateau of 1000 ponds landscape dominated by ponds, and shaped by peasant work, along the Doue de l'Eau (there were once eleven sawmills which used hydraulic power to operate them against two today hui). 7 minutes by car from Miellin, there are waterfalls where you can jump 10m in cool water. In 30 minutes, in winter, you can go skiing at the Ballon d'Alsace, the Gazon Rouge, La Planche des Belles Filles, la Bresse, Ventron,…. In the surrounding villages, farms produce munster, Comté and other goat cheeses. In Servance, a neighboring village, some shops are even open on Sunday morning. Favorable for many sporting activities (mountain biking, discovery walking tours ...) and cultural (museums, cross and Calvary tours, altarpieces ...) several sites to discover on foot. The highest point in the town of Miellin, 850 meters above sea level, the Saint Blaise chapel will make these visitors discover a magnificent and mysterious site. At its feet, a source renowned for its therapeutic virtues treats sore throats and eyes. According to the saying: EAU DE SAINT BLAISE, EVERYTHING APAISE. Mont Cornu and Hill 820, the path climbs to the assault of hill 820. A summit, a sumptuous panorama on the plateau of a thousand ponds and the surrounding mountains. Without forgetting the monument erected to the glory of the heroes of the shock battalion, who fell in these places to liberate Servance. On these mountains in the southern reaches of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park, the species are varied, especially at altitude where leafy and resinous trees mix. Firs and spruces are the most numerous to dress these slopes alongside beech, oak, maple and Scots pine.
