If the property listing had said they live within ten yards of the VRBO building and watch visitors closely and show up unannounced / uninvited, I NEVER would have made a reservation here! A single female with epilepsy, I brought my ADA-licensed service dog with me, although the property says no dogs. I really regret that choice! I regret not asking the owner before booking!
After I had brought my many personal items into the VRBO up the tall, steep, wet-with-rain outdoor stairs, Patricia appeared suddenly, trembling and shaking with rage to tell me she doesn’t allow dogs. I said, “Well, should we go?” feeling awful and uncomfortable and miserable and ready to leave. She said no.
Then she left, but returned minutes later with UNNECESSARY backup: a man, straggly red hair dripping with rage. He and Patricia barged back into the VRBO to tell me get out. Glaring and glowering at me like I was someone twice my size who had invaded his land & threatened his life, the man appeared ready to punch or shoot me. Patricia slammed the door in my face after telling me to leave. She or her husband slammed or punched something else on their way downstairs.
I couldn’t pack my service dog or my car fast enough—careful to navigate the steep, tall, wet outdoor steps with caution.
This has been my only bad VRBO experience—the absolute worst. It may well be my last.
